I understand one of the problems moving the fixture to lunch time on Sunday was the Car Boot Sale which is on Sunday morning .

A difficult one this ... My initial reaction was to applaud the Clubs for moving the game, something which I think they obviously had to do. Reading the posts so far on here it looks pretty much like the switch to Saturday evening has excluded quite a few and others may not come because they too have plans for Saturday.

Moving the game was a no-brainer in my opinion but it may be that Rochdale didn't want a Sunday lunchtime kick off and the only way to agree the switch was to play Saturday (I don't know, I'm guessing).

As has been said earlier on the thread, it's hard to know what the attendance will be on Saturday but it will certainly be more than if it hadn't been switched.

Besides the players will want to watch England.....presumably.
Unfortunately...if the sample on here is anything to go by....Saturday could be badly attended too....and the message of a change has to received by supporters who might not be aware.
Anyone with any gumption would have noticed the clash though and looked to check the kick-off time (and date) surely?

But a Noon (or even a 1pm) Kick Off on Sunday would have allowed for that to happen.

Looks like the Car Boot is the issue from Paul's comments above.

Yes I know and that's why I suggested noon myself (first by the way  ).....but if you look at your post you'll see why I put what I did.

You're too clever for me (but then I knew that already :) ).

For the record, I wasn't suggesting a lunchtime kick off merely opining that it would still allow the players to watch England - Saturday evening will do fine on this occasion.

I know you weren't....and Saturday will do just fine by me....I will record the game that takes place at that time in the World Cup (USA vs whoever...who cares) and settle down after a few pints to watch the mighty Dons.

The estimate is that 35 Million people will watch England's game...that still leaves 27 million free to watch the Dons. :D
