Tennis is still a class game in this country.
How many schools have tennis courts? And of that number, how many are state-funded?
How many LTA scouts tour these schools, actually looking for talent?
Until we start to encourage the game at grass roots, state-funded, primary school level, then all we'll have to look forward to is a procession of more over-privileged kids, turning out because mummy is in the audience.
How this abject class-ridden shoite can take precedence over RL is totally beyond me.

It's not a competitive sport, it's a social sport in this country. For the next few days, articles will be written, questions asked of the LTA...and then will be forgotten about until this time next year when the cycle happens again.
Golf isn't taught in schools, nor is it especially 'open' yet, as a nation/islands we can compete at the top level with the rest of the world. Why is tennis so different?

59-59 finish due to poor light.
One game has pretty much blown anything World Cup 2010 out of the water.
Tennis at it's best surely isn't players serving ace after ace, easily holding their own serves with few decent rallies never mind any hope of many break or match points? Full credit to them both for their stamina and concentration but quality disappeared from the game a long time ago, not suprisingly.

Kept cutting McEnroe off when they were discussing the possibilities of introducing a 5th set tiebreaker. You've got one of the best players of all time offering his opinions but Inverdale thought his and Tiger Tim's opinions were more important. Prick
