What did Rooney do to deserve to be rated as very poor rather than awful?

Didn't think he got sufficient service but seeing as I'm half way there preparing for Sant Joan  , see EDIT ;)

Slovenia were poor because we totally outclassed them for 80 odd minutes playing some terrifc football at times.

The last 10 minutes were a bit more nervous than they could have been with our failure to bag a 2nd goal...not through lack of effort or top drawer football though..

The togetherness in the team says to me we will go far in this competition...when it mattered we performed and got the result we needed.

I want Germany now because we will beat them...we will get more up for that game than any other and that will bring out the best in us...the better our opponents the better we will play as we go on IMO.

Why can't people celebrate the effort the lads put in and the result they achieved instead of trying to pick faults and have a go? It beggars belief to me!

Outclassed for 30 minutes really, two 15 minute spells in either half, but England did their usual and sat back a bit. Germany are still likely to win Group D and they'll murder England if they don't drastically improve.

A 1-0 win over a poor Slovenia side and suddenly England are world beaters?! That beggars belief more like.

And for the record, I'm not English, although as I am British, and so are they, I do hope they progress far. But at the end of the day, England are not good enough.

As a betting man I fully expect you to load on England, as Germany will be clear favourites.

I will certainly be 'loading' on England should we face Germany.

Anything around the even money mark or even odds against will be like a gift from the Gods and be the bet of the decade!

I just like the way England are continually criticised no matter how they play or what result they get?

Suppose it will get me a better price though, so every cloud and all that.....

Quite fancy backing Germany to go through, that way I can't lose.

I hope we do play Germany as Beckenbauer has already done the teamtalk for us last week. We'll beat the Germans on pens and then beat the Argies with a hand ball goal from Rooney in the QF :D That's as far as we'll go as we've no chance against Spain in the SF.

Why?

Will Spain get another go after they are desepatched in the last 16?
