Being a Rovers fan its a good signing. However I hope the money offered reflects the injuries he often picks up. He often spends more time on the floor then Rocky Balboa at times but when he's on he's fantastic.

Cooke has gone and Mills will be following. Wheeldon too is 'not a priority', according to HDM. Colbon, Walker and Galea are still ooc. There is always the possibility of the departure of contracted player if it suits both parties.

We might have made offers to several players, knowing that they are unlikely to all accept - making it clear that the offer is subject to withdrawl if other contemporaneous negotiations reach a successful conclusion.

Also it's possible that Morgan might be including offers of pro contracts to academy players. More than the salary cap, it is the quota system that'll limit numbers. With Hodgson turning 21, we may need to release 2 more non-club-trained players than we sign.

not sure Webster should have got 2 years TBH, with his mounting injuries a 1 year deal would have been better. as for Craig Hall id still like to see him signed, maybe hes not the best defencivley but he can cover a good few positions though.

Doesn't mean they'd accept, but. Maybe somebody else might offer more or longer, then we'd be looking elsewhere.



I think it is possible Clinton took Cooke's spot in the top 25 earners. I don't know this, it is merely conjecture.
As far as the cap goes, Fitzhenry, Fozzard, Gene and Aizue left and apart from Clinton we 'only' signed Matt Cook, Ratu and Hodgson from outside. The last two had about 8 or 10 SL games between them I think. There were some contract upgrades, but my guess is Clinton could have been accomodated. Remember, any pay-off Cooke received will have counted on our cap.
Obviously, I don't think that was the only factor in Cooke's departure, otherwise why not pay-off Mills in full?

Will still need at least 8 home grown players for 2011 - i.e. a player still under 21 and/or has completed 3 years service with the same club's academy set up.
