In qualification there was no need to speak his mind. England coasted to the WC. Does England's WC performance and results warrant people to speak their mind or not?
He didn't have to speak his mind and he certainly didn't have to vent his spleen in public. I hope England win the thing as I'm English, but I've already completely lost interest in the tournament with multi-millionaire players trying to run their national teams. Pathetic.

I have a degree of sympathy with JT and I am not a big fan of his. He was nominated to do the press conference after a dreadful performance where everyone knew whoever turned up would get a real grilling by the press. He was refreshingly honest and for 99% of the time said the right things. He did make an error with mentioning individual players like Cole which he should not have done. He was right to say the players can go to the management and speak their mind but perhaps he should have said it in a slightly less aggressive way as these type of discussion should happen behind closed doors.
Most of what he said I was fine with, I did wonder if he had an agenda and wanted to appear as the big man and whislt there might be have been a bit of that I do think for the most part he was trying to just answer the questions honestly.
That said Capello is the boss and what he says goes, he had given Terry a real cage rattling and maybe he is right, sometimes after a big mistake comes a big performance. I just hope England do perform and this is all seen as a catalyst for the rest of the tournament, so far the players have not done themselves justice and they owe the fans a big performance or two.

France down to 10 men now. Gourcuff got a straight red. I'm in South Wales, the wind is coming from the west & I'm sure I can hear the sound of laughter.
Allez Les Catalans!
