Rhys Wesser , watched the Manly v Souths Saturday Night Game and he looked OK , another ' oldie ', 31 spent all his time with Penrith before they presumably moved him on in favour of their new star Full Back & Top NRL Try Scorer - Lachlan Coote.
I hope it's just a rumour as I can live with ' Experience ' in certain key positions but would prefer to have another couple of ' Matty Smith - Jodie Broughtons ' .
Mind you is approaching ' silly season ' as the NRL begin to offload their surplus squad members to pick over what's left of Melbournes team.
"In his autumn before the winter comes man's last mad surge of youth." "What on earth are you talking about?"
I'd like to see Andrew Ryan in a Reds shirt, but not many others who we've been rumoured with who I can honestly say I'd want. Wesser, Patten both good players, but getting on. I don't think Blaymire is as good as Fitzy. Ali Lauitiiti is good but again, getting on a bit. Fielden is now no better than what we already have, Ben Cross would also be getting on and haven't we previously declined Karl Pryce anyway? We need to keep going with the young players. We keep saying we're building for the future but all the players we have been linked with are around their 30's. We could do with signing a hooker, preferably a young one, seen as Alker won't be playing and Jeremy Smith is out of contract. Still, at least we are being linked with a fair few players.

Think you can go to far down the yough route, what is needed is the correct mixture of youth and experience. For me a 30+ full back would be a backwards step but any of the import forwards that have been mooted of late would add a great deal to the squad and help bring on the crop of brilliant youngsters we have in our forward ranks. Think next season is a make or break one for Adamson as he has failled to progress this year for me, I thought he may have been in with a shot of touring this year but his form has let him down.

Any thoughts of signing Lau'ititi can now be forgotten, he's signed a new deal at Leeds. (For the record they've also resigned Diskin, Bailey, Buderus, Leuluai, Donald & Senior)

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr
A mate of mine said he'd heard Mcrae being interviewed about signings and saying you were looking at a young winger and centre from the NRL. His words were something like "if we get them they'll be 2 of the best players to have played in super league" anyone else heard this interview, or know who they'd be? It's bugging me now that I can't find the interview anywhere, but I'm intrigued to see who would be that good to come over.
