Sure, the matches haven't been that good, however, most teams think it more important to not lose the first game rather than trying to force the win.
Now that we're in the second round of matches I think the quality of the games will improve. It's also good for the tournament that "lesser" nations are getting results against the powerhouses.
Why a stupid statement ?
It's my opinion and i stand by it, i can remember from 86 to this one, so far the games are woeful, the SA fans are morons (not racist before it starts ,i'm not calling SA in general), the stadiums are not full (in a world cup that is shocking)
I don't care about who wins be it lesser team or not, i'm just hoping all the SA fans stay away now their team is out (not technically but realistically). I have to put up with the media talking about f'kin apartheid round every corner and how brilliant Nelson Mandela is (This is sport ffs, i don't care, if i wanted politics i'd watch the news)
Every thing about this tournament is leaving a bitter taste in my mouth AND i'm not the only one saying it, in fact at the place i work it's the general consensus.
If the tournament comes to England do i have to listen about World War I & II or how William Wilberforce helped banish slavery or programmes on how Emmeline Pankhurst helped get the vote for women ?
I want to see the football, with no politics, and i want to hear the fans singing and chanting and yes in the SA games don't mind those stupid horns as long as they are confined to only their games. I want to hear drums and cow bells and samba and trumpets from the various nations.
Hate this World cup on so many levels.
That's my point, this is a forum, there you go.
No chip, no handbags, just a honest opinion
