Should have gone for Barrios of Paraguay. Very underrated player who seems to be scoring at every level he plays at.

Nelson Mandela won't be at today's Opening Ceremony as he is too distressed after his grandaughter was killed by a drunk driver last night.

I fancy France not to make it through the group stages. It's a tough group anyway and they seem to be at odds with each other.

The driver of the car she was in apparently.

Opening ceremony underway. Looks good so far.

FIFA's response is that he made an agreement to be at the opening ceremony and he better be there.

Doesn't sound like that to me. From the BBC Sport website

Quote:Fifa president Sepp Blatter has written to Nelson Mandela after the death of the former South African president's 13-year-old great-granddaughter in a car crash on Thursday. Blatter described it as "unspeakably tragic", but said Mandela will "be with us in spirit [for the opening ceremony and game] for which we are incredibly grateful."

WTF did Maradona have the Argies doing at training, all running around like headless chickens. Team spirit seems to be there though.
