If you have your own transport try Beverley 8 miles north many fine pubs & eating houses or any of the villages or go to the coast Hornsea, Bridlington. I only go into Hull for the Rugby otherwise avoid the place.

Just to backup what others have said, Apollo, Four in Hand and Mill (all Holderness Rd) will be your best bets. Hope you enjoy your trip
