Just been looking at Wildcats pictures on google and got to thinking who was the fastest ever Trinity player?
Paul Sampson was a junior sprint start but was he quicker than Andy Frew in studs? Any olden day speedsters (who may only have played a handful of games) most of us never knew about?
Paul Sampson modern era yes. In the 60's we had of course Berwyn Jones the Welsh flyer who was part of the world record holding 4x100 GB team that beat the Yanks before turning pro. There was also a couple of Powderhall sprinters that trailed with us believe one was Eddie McDonagh. Remember him being fast as ...... but money still goes on Berwyn although Andy Wilson's famous try against Leeds with the CUT well that day he got some speed from somewhere.
