Only myopic Rovers fans could "celebrate" this signing....all the "good" things you say about Lovegrove also apply to Scott Wheeldon but he doesnt miss nearly 15% of all his tackles.....yet where is his two year deal...??
Okay smarty pants, list me your ideal Rovers pack, plus back ups.
Lets try to remember the current salary cap though!

Not an endorsement that will earn him a massive amount of kudos amongst his, ahem, fellow Hull KR fans, I suspect.

Lovgrove is a good prop, and was very good at the back end of last year and first few games of this one. Ok he's had a dip in form of late but he's hardly on his own. He's got a lot more go forward than Wheeldon and was a lot better than Fozzard was last year. He's been consistently better than Vella as well. The lad has only just turned 23 and will improve over the years. I for one am delighted he's signed on for 2 years and am equally as delighted that Mills has gone.
As for him being the worst tackler in the league I can name a few who are much worse. Did he steal your bike or something Larry????

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Kris Welham...??? Michael Dobson..???
Seriously BR, Tony Clubb is worse i will give you that but name me any prop who misses anywhere near the tackles Rhys does..., name me some players in any position at top clubs who miss the amount and percentage of tackles Rhys does...just because Morgan justifies this extension by saying "Rhys has been conistently good" doesnt make it true...

What is wrong with building the pack around players like Wheeldon, Watts and Beaumont?
Oh yeah, young and English rules them out of having a future at Rovers
To be fair to Rovers they secured Watts signiture before Lovegroves so we arnt neglecting the English lads. With regards Beaumont, watching the reserves this year i would say that Dee and Green have gone above him in the pecking order. I wouldnt be surprised to see one of those given a full time deal in the off-season at his expense.
