I think Hardman is an interesting one. Easily good enough for a squad spot in SL, but maybe prefers to play regularly?
If we wanted to strengthen in other areas or were looking to cut the wage bill (unpalatable, but it might have to happen - whether it has to happen soon, I don't think there has been any clear indication), he'd be an adequate first choice fullback.

I'd rather spend big money elsewhere and have someone solid and dependable at FB. Obviously if money/Quota were no object you want Billy Slater or Brent Webb; but you have to be realistic.

But also living in the Fev Chairmans massive house with his daughter, would take a pretty good offer to eqaul what he has at Fev. Was not interested when other SL clubs sniffed and felt very let down when forced out by some pretty average Aussies at the time he left Rovers.

I cant understand why Ben Cockayne cannot be put back into the position he did so well in for a season in NL1.

He wont move at all i dont think; because of that. He's set for life.

Who were these "pretty average Aussies" who were competing for the Full Back slot when Ian was released in Sept 2007? (released isn't the right word as he was only ever on loan). I believe he would have stayed had Rovers not signed Briscoe.

I close my eyes every time a high ball goes up when Cockayne plays at fullback; a good enough cover but not good enough for the no1 full back spot. I wasn't aware of Ian Hardman's personal situation.

He was thinking his future was on the wing/centre at that point, I would imagine Fitz but he never said that

It is a lot to give up, a great salary for community coach, a house and a players wage for a part time club to go back to a place where he was rejected in the past.

I would put my house on him never signing for HKR again. Then again I could be wrong, apparantly a house and a car and a job is nothing to give up if the Robins come calling!!

It is when the house is worth 500k and he has a salary for community coach which will be a substantial amount when you add his playing wage in too.
