Under Morgan, Rovers have improved year on year, until this year which doesn't actually finish until September or (not that we'll be involved) October.

This year we've already beaten St. Helens, Warrington and Leeds. We've also seen some awful performances.

As a coach you can only work with the players you've got, fair enough, they're Morgans players so he has to take the blame. However, we all know that getting players to come to Hull as a city is often a pretty tough ask and no doubt we've paid over the odds for some of ours, we're also a yet to be fully established in Super League mid table side so if one of the bigger clubs come in for a player we're in for we're going to have to out bid them.

The best clubs have stability from years of being in this division and are able to only have to change three or four players in the off season as well as bringing through their own youth. We've had, until this last off season a huge turnover of players, they're not all going to turn out to be the signings you expect in terms of quality and working within the group.

Given that Morgan will have long term ambitions to coach in the NRL he would be mental not to go to Saints to work with arguably the most talented group of up and coming players in Super League, at Super Leagues most successful club, in a brand new stadium.

Frankly, the way the fans are moaning on because we're in a bad run you couldn't blame him for going. Hardly grateful and supportive for everyone to get on his back when we hit our first real hurdle following almost four years of progress at a club that's been in the doldrums for twenty odd years is it?

Absoloutley agree, year on year improvements and some fans shouting for his head after three bad games ( **** poor to be honest ). Lets have sympathy for those clubs who have had three bad seasons never mind three bad games.

Don't be feeling too sorry for us pet - our bad season in 2008 still netted us a £250,000 bonus to keep reducing our debt. Imagine how bad it would be if we were out of a play-off place and loss-making. Nasty. 8)

So, Morgan. The fact that he's got a long time to run on his contract and therefore a hefty compensation payment would be due to Rovers should put Saints off surely? They're hardly likely to be scratching round for a replacement.

Firstly, there might be a lot of movement this off season. Potter confirmed to be going, Brown maybe too. McNamara becoming England coach full time. Fans agitating for changes at Hull, Cas, Catalans (?) and until recently Quins. Who is going to fill the gaps? A SL return for Ellery Hanley? Iestyn Harris? A new batch of Aussie wrestling coaches?
Secondly, fully half the current SL coaches have names beginning with 'M'. Proof that something can be amazing and boring at the same time.

According to Andy Wilson in his newspaper column Leeds will also be looking for a new coach as Bluey's contract is up and not being renewed as has a job lined up in NRL and wife wants to return home is the rumour

Two of them were against the team eventually promoted, Castleford.

But the winning run ended when Morgan took over.

Not quite true. We lost at Oldham the week before Morgan's 1st game in charge (Cas at home when we thrashed them 46-18). The Oldham defeat was Webbo's only loss in 10 games in charge.

I seem to recal Morgan was at the Northern Rail Cup final having been appoined coach the day before (or something like that) although he left Webbo to finish the preparations he had made for that game, Morgan was quite embarrassed in the interview after the game for being given the credit as the coach of Hull KR. which he played down not actually having coached the team at this point.

Morgan would have been the coach for the next game.

I'm sure Webbo was unbeaten as coach.

Nope.

He was indeed at the game, but he then returned to Toulouse as they agreed to release him following their Challenge Cup semi v Leeds on 31st July. This was the same day we lost at Oldham.
