We can all question the size of government and the the effectiveness of quangos - but to make statement like ".. creams cash from local hospital..." is imho ill-informed at best and libellous at worst. I suggest that you take a look at https://www.appointments.org.uk/Home/AboutUs/PublicAppointments which explains how the Appointments Commission works, why there is a need, and indeed a legal requirement, for non-exec directors (perhaps look up what a non-exec is - it doesn't mean they don't do anything you know!) and who knows you may find some appointments there that you might like to apply for and use your talents for the benefit of the nation?

Blears' husband creams cash off hospital. he does bugger all and gets paid for it, what's ill informed or libellous about that? What about Blears ripping £45k and using 'the rules' as an excuse for it? Lovely couple.

How about Blears and her departament and the Neil Hill affair?

The Politics Show was from Salford this morning. Spokesperson for each party, and curiously it wasn't Blears but Louise Ellman for Labour............I wonder why Hazel couldn't face the cameras in the last days before an election??

Rotten, corrupt woman who has smiled at the people of Salford whilst picking their pockets.

Four hours and no response from 'Scanners'.

Methinks you may have hit the nail on the head!

 Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book

And now we have illegal immigrants on the scene. Wonder if this is why Blears ducked appearing on the BBC on Sunday morning?

They can spout all they want about policies and so close to a general election the promises come thick and fast, however all this business over expenses has confirmed what i've thought all along. They are just in it to line their pockets.

As I understand it, they think there should be a law against it
