Dave Clark completely missed the point whilst interviewing Ronnie Baxter after his match against Wade. He said the Premier League was "all about the atmosphere." Well, yes in a way but as Ronnie was saying each player is up there earning a living. For them to perform and to then entertain they need good order & respect and not to be booing and jeering when a player is throwing. To do this they have to clamp down on the many idiots who go to these nights. One way will be to stop switching to the crowd whilst the players are throwing. This generates more cheers, jeers & whistles than anything else.
I've said to friends whilst we've been at the MEN Arena and the Winter Gardens before that, there are loads there that are just there to get bevvied and balloon and maybe hope for a 2 second cameo on TV. Being there to watch the darts is way down the list.
An example of this was in Taylor's match where he was on 201, scored two treble 20s then as the crowd were expecting him to go for a maximum he switched (as all top darts players would) to an-odd numbered treble to leave himself on a double (treble 15 for double 8 in this case). Should've got a round of applause for great thought & throwing but it was met with bemusement in the main.

Fair play to Barney on the 9-darter. Been all over the place recently but he's shown he's still got something there.

Agree all the way mate.If you look at the audience most are stood up ,swaying about, not even looking at the game.
I also cannot understand why King gets so much grief. He doesn`t deserve it,and no wonder he sometimes loses his rag with the crowd.

If it was for the way darts has reformed into a booze-up and singalong, the livings earned by Baxter and co would be a fraction of what they are now.

Don't get me wrong, the idiots who are putting players off purposely on their throw ought to be ejected from arenas. But if it was for these big crowds, sing-songs etc etc, darts wouldn't be what it is today.

It's a shame but it's here to stay I would think now. The way some people carry on is not on but there's not much that can be done, throwing them out when they are caught but the damage is already done. It's people who just see it as an excuse to get completely tw@ted that cause the problem. I agree on the King point, scandalous. Again though it's the pi$sed up mob who here one person booing and join in thinking it's a laugh, the majority don't even know anything about darts or King.

Good shout. It's a very good point never raised on the TV but the crowds are the ones pouring the money into darts. Wade is one who continually moan about the crowd but he seems to forget without them he wouldn't be making his living from pro darts.
