Yeah, its well know in the game that Saints never get any decisions from refs like forward pass decisions etc...As for the games you mentioned Rovers were worthy winners in both, just as Saints were today.

knowsley rd...4mins to go..smith gives rovers a penalty near the sticks to win the game. your place..6 sets on our line saint keeping you out...smith gives a couple of penalties to make sure you get over.(again not long to go on the clock)..so u win by a few points worthy winners my
oooh miss jones, theres only one superleague team to shout for and that is THE SAINTS.
Having watched games at a few age groups, saints play like that all the way through, hence their young kids playing today all know the systems and plays etc. KR 20s and 18s don't even train with the 1st team, let alone get a look in with playing if there are injuries. Gwylam gave Ratu a right slagging off on the radio during the game for his defending. Not fair as there were a lot more players missing today, but does it show a lack of depth in the squad? Yes it's been only 3 years but good recruiting 3 years ago would have meant these lads would be 19/20 now and ready, including good coaching. Morgan even said again on radio he's looking to the NRL for players, even mid season!

That's poor. We have been lucky in that we got a group of about seven quality players in our 2008 academy team who were all promoted last season and had their debuts last season, so they have been able to step in reasonably well this season when we have yet again been battered with injuries (Foster, Armstrong, Dixon and Ashurst were from that group and were playing tonight). Eastmond. Moore and Wheeler were from an earlier group and I think only two have been promoted from last season's group (a halfback and a centre). But it was the 2008 academy team that garnished us with a useful looking number of young players for this season.
I think a couple of our previous coaches looked to the NRL when injuries hit but Saints have changed tack in recent years, for a number of reasons. I think it pays off.
Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. (Winston Churchill)

Did he say that? Or did he say the club are always looking for players, as are all clubs, and that there aren't many half backs on the go over here and it's more difficult to recruit players from Aus/NZ when the state of origin and anzac tests are coming up.

I'M SURE THERE IS NO CORRELATION BETWEEN THE FACT THAT THE FRONT RUNNERS FOR THE 2009 MEDIA WHINGING AWARD ARE FROM GATESHEAD AND HULL FC, FORMERLY THE B*ST*RD-TWINS OF ONE OF RUGBY LEAGUE'S LOUSIER IDEAS.
