Trying to follow up last years Greyhound Derby 100/1 winning tip
Eye On The Storm is a worthy favourite but needs inside draws and Tr5 in the 1st round is worrying so here's a few outsiders who might go a long way in the competition and perhaps match or better 500/1 ante post and 50/1 in the final itself shot Blonde Boss 4 or 5 years back who came a valiant 2nd.

And the real hidden jem Bonville Johnny at 1000/1. A1 at Romford does not suggest a potential Derby finalist but dogs at that track need a blistering fast start to get anywhere and as there are not many wide seeds entered this year he should get a nice draw as he hopefully progresses and with trouble behind he might go a round or two and as he is not much more than a puppy could well improve as the competition progresses.
Big if but if he beats Fear Zafonic in his heat and qualifies I can not see anything like 1000/1 being available before the next round. 200/1 in places suggests some bookies are not prepared to write him off so easily.

Loving the Derby selections Espanyolswan - was only on Glenard Sunrise last year after the first round so despite making the final there was no return on the bet lol. Wasn't sure we'd be getting some this year but Pricewise in the Post put up my fancy this morning at 66/1 - Millies Hawk, I'm the first to admit I don't know nearly as much about the dogs as I do about the horses but this dog has terrific early pace and the owner/trainer said some very encouraging things about him in the Post last weekend.
Will also be backing Freedom Emma in the race - always have been a ladies man
Makfi @ 33/1 NRNB (Stan James) - The key to this bet is the Non-Runner-No-Bet. He's not a confirmed runner at this stage and coming from a top French stable who rarely have runners in the UK it would be silly to back him under Ante-Post conditions. He won easily last time out against a decent enough field in one of the main French Guineas trials the Prix Fontainbleu at Maisons-Lafitte. This will be only his third run having won a Fontainbleu maiden at 7f last year. He'll be tackling a mile for the first time and fast ground also but the going didn't inconvenience his sire Dubawi and should be run in the big one he's likely to have the services of Christophe Lemaire - IMO the best flat jockey riding at the moment.

Al Zir @ 14/1 (Coral) - There's been some money for this horse in recent days and it's not hard to see why given how well he's been working in recent weeks. He looked potentially top class on debut on the July course at Newmarket and subsequently followed up again over 7f at Doncaster in a conditions race. He completed his 2yo campaign with a good third to today's favourite St Nicholas Abbey on rain-softened ground at Doncaster over a mile in the Group 1 Racing Post Trophy. He'll be far more at home on the likely prevailing softer ground on Saturday particularly given his US-breeding (sire Medaglia D'Oro was a Grade 1 winner at 10f and is sire of top filly Rachel Alexandra amongst others). He looks potentially top class and with the wet winter we've had in Europe the fact that he's spent the past 6 months in Dubai may well benefit him and his stablemates (as seen by the runs of Ameer, Chabal and Claremont in recent weeks).

Had three bets today - I've yet to see Mossey Joe win but my mate in Southern Ireland's pointing world tells me that he looks a bit of a beast in her opinion, 4/1 in the 7:50 Tipp
Also fancy Faultless Feelings @ 10/1 in the 20:20 Tipp who was impressive in winning an ordinary 2m 4f 4yo Maiden on his only start between the flags and Fiddlededee in the 7:20 - who's priced at 10/1 also, she was travelling well in a good mares final when coming to grief five from the finish - but for that mishap she could be 2/2 thus far.

Kentucky Derby Stately Victor - The first leg of the US Triple Crown takes place on Saturday night, whilst it's lost some of its allure for many with the defection of ante-post favourite Eskendereya and the well fancied Endorsement the prospect of a wet track for the second year on the trot really does intrigue me. Last years renewal saw plenty of early pace and a massive homestretch effort from rank outsider Mine That Birdwho came charging through the pack in the mud to go clear of a number of those who raced handy. Whilst I don't expect Stately Victor to be coming from quite that far back he should be finishing late and fast and like Mine That Bird's sire Birdstone, Stately Victor's sire Ghostzapper also has a good record with his progeny on a wet track. Stately Victor himself has yet to encounter the slop and looked unremarkable prior to his last start when a change of jockey from Julien Leparoux to Alan Garcia appeared to work the magic for him with a late stretch run to win the Bluegrass Stakes (G1) going away. He appears to be peaking at just the right time and I'm hopeful of a big big run from him
