Isnt the range of punishment there from sending off sufficient to a 1 game ban. Cant have been that bad then.

Yeah

I reckon it'll be s.o.s. tbh Vella said after the game he was suprised webster got sent off and thought it was only a penalty

That was my point when posting.

Interesting that despite not even warranting a penalty at the time, Scruton is looking at a 1-2 game ban for his shot on Clinton.

It initially looked bad at the time (I was pretty much level with it) but it was the type of tackle that if you go with real intention you'll pretty much knock your opponent out. i.e. If he stiff armed him or caught him with a closed fist. Given that the Bradford player (to his ultimate credit) jumped straight back up I think it was probably more of a lazy grab at the end of a match where Webster would have been undoubtadley tired due to the amount of defending he'd had to do.

It's a correct call by the disciplinary for it to be in the s.o.s. to 1 game bracket. It was the type of tackle you see where the referee often just gives the player a talking to but I personally think players deserve to go for, head shots are creeping back into the game. So, although he made a few imo bad calls, credit has to go to Child for having the cojones to red card him. At the time I wanted Child's cojones to be smacked between two bricks, but on reflection it was the right call.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Indeed, that was a much worse tackle. Scruton did some sort of mental Tekan jump smash on Clinton's swede whilst running at full speed, dangerous, could have caused serious injury and beyond belief that it apparently didn't merit a penalty.

Now you have taken serious issue with a guy on the Bulls Board for expressing a similar, if opposite, partisan view - so come on, fair's fair?

FWIW I thought Webster's shot on Donaldson was an outrageous tackle likely due as much to tiredness as anything. Only an idiot would clothesline someone like that with intent. I was surprised at the red card - he'd let any number of seeming high shots (Murrell especially) go already - but it did look quite a bad one. Will be SOS IMO - no ban, warning on technique etc.

I saw nothing wrong in the Scruton hit - was right in front of me - but (same as you) I saw it at speed in real time. the officials could be seen discussing it, but obviously decided it was fair. As always, no doubt the videos will prove it one way or the other. And innocent until proved guilty and all that.

Common theme on all sites, fans never see a problem with their own players indiscretions, but want the oppositions players banned sine-die for similar.

Aye, fair point. I just couldn't resist the use of "mental Tekan jump smash" as a phrase.

I would however say that I haven't taken serious issue with Big Maccbullyboaza, I just don't agree with him.

From the sounds of it you were stood pretty near me, and I think this highlights that not having fans on the disciplinary panel can only be seen as A Good Thing!

Sat - I'm in the stand. I think I was nearer, but also of course had a different view. The panel will have the advantage of a different view again, of course!

And if there were fans on the panel, Ryan Bailey would be banned Sine Die three times a week, even if just for blowing his nose in the tackle! ;)
