Why on earth didn't they put in a relegation wage drop? Thats some spectacular over confidence from a club that stayed up by the skin of their teeth last season

Because he wouldn't have signed for them if they tried?

The fact is that Bullard is a PL player and to get him to sign for you you've got to pay him PL money. If the club aren't good enough to stay in the PL then you'll have to sell him when the club go down, but there's no way Bullard would agree to staying at Hull in the Championship on reduced money for a few seasons when he could easily find another PL club.

It really is a non-story.

All I have heard yesterday and today is that Chelsea will have a very hard game at Anfield, Liverpool this and Liverpool that, makes a change from top 4 blah blah Rafa's on borrowed time blah blah.

Let's be honest, there's no chance of you lot doing us a favour. And even if you do we'd probably lose at Sunderland the next day.

Would the yanks announce they are staying on if Liverpool sneaked 4th place? It seemed they decided to sell up when 4th looked out of the question, maybe a 4th place finish and the extra revenue it brings will make them think again?

I can see Liverpool beating Chelsea and United drawing at Sunderland. Both to win their final league game and the title goes to The Bridge.

How big will the City- Spurs game be. Winner to take 4th, a draw I think will mean Liverpool will get 4th.

Pretty sure they will make enough money for nothing once the club is sold.

I hope they choke on it.

Well obviously seeing as they're on more points

Villa to L, D = 65
Spurs to W, D, L= 68
Liverpool to W, W= 68
Man C to W, D, L= 67

Liverpool to make 4th on GD. The PL need either Villa or Spurs to get 4th though.

Can still get 20/1 on Liverpool to finish 4th. Depends how much you want to beat Chelsea though.

TBH I think both games could go either way. I think there is some % of Liverpool fans who don't want United taking their title record, but I don't think that will be felt by the players.

To Benitez and the players, it's a chance to show that they are better than their performance this season suggests. To derail our title hopes will be a feather in their cap, and while they won't be happy for Man United to win the title, they will be delighted to screw us over. And the prospect of 4th is obviously a massive goal.

There's suggestions that Steve Bruce would roll over for Fergie, but similar motivations surround Sunderland. To be able to beat a title-chasing Man United, after drawing at OT would be a great feat. Sunderland's league position could swing between 9th and 13th, depending on results. That's a significant amount of money for a club like Sunderland.
