I remember one particular time during the early eighties when we were playing Rochdale Hornets at the old rochdale ground, while most of the thirty something coaches that day were parked on the official coach and car park, our coach and one other were, for some reason parked behind the back of the ground.
After the game as we all went to board the bus, we were attacked by between twenty and thirty youths who had been waiting for us and who were not wearing any teams colours, there was one mass brawl which lasted for a few minutes before police reinforcements arrived and mannaged to disburse the mob.
Unfortunately though, not before two of our guys were hit on the head with bricks and knocked unconscious plus three of the coach windows had been smashed. I remember after we arrived back in Hull City centre later that night and surveying the damage sustained to the coach, it looked like it had been through a war zone, besides the three smashed windows, there were also number of dents all the way down the coaches bodywork.
The two guys who were felled by bricks had to been taken to Rochdales local Hospital, luckily they were released later that night but had to make their own way home to Hull.
We all had a whip round at the next away game to cover their travel expenses, that was some day, certainly not one of my better ones.

The incident happened as we were driving along a busy main road so stopping and identifying the culprits was impossible as they would have scarpered no doubt.

IMO, to have any credibility, given some of the rubbish I've seen posted regarding this 'incident', people need to see more than posts from Warrington fans disgruntled at losing a game they expected to win.

Shut up now, please, and if you truly believe you have some evidence, take it to the appropriate authorities.

The end.

It was a game we were confident of winning considering the way we have started the season, the best team won on the day and there's no debating that. I dont think any Wire fan has said otherwise on this thread.

What sort of evidence would you like us to provide? The culprit's name and address?

Herein lies the problem, reporting this to the club/police would have abosolutley no impact whatsoever as there is no way of idntifying the culprit.

Shut up now, please. The End.

It would have more impact then talking about it on a bloody forum!!

But get the fact right before you do, at first it was a window been smashed through by a brick - then it was just the outside part of the double glasing window - then it was by a golf ball going over the bridge just past crown (red el) pub.
Bearing in mind that i see people go on St Richards school hitting golf balls all the time it doesnt say alot really.

Its a shame that one minority idiot sparks off a thread like this.As usual it is mentioned.Nothing is ever mentioned about the vast majority of supporters who do not cause trouble.I love the banter between opposing supporters, and would hope this is the norm.

so reading between the lines. The window was partly smashed by a golf ball on a bridge close to a playing field where many people play golf.
