Since then he's been given little SL game time to even try and impress and the 6 sub apperances he did get he had maybe one poor game and the others he was solid.

Dont know when Millsy slept with Morgans Mrs but he's obviously done something wrong to not get more game time as thats all he needs, an odd game here or there he's never going to make any impact.

whenever morgan wasn't in!!!!!!!

Nope. You'd assume he'd want some game time to put himself in the shop window for a NL contract next year. We can't and shouldn't expect anybody in the lower divisions to contribute more than a token amount to his wage - and we gain nowt by letting him rot in the stands. If someone offered him a month, Rovers should allow him that opportunity IMO.

I agree. I feel a bit sorry for the bloke TBH. It must be hard watching from the sidelines week after week.

Christ knows why you're so desperate to get him, it'll take more than one of your, ahem, "Special Products" to liven the buggah up into perhaps breaking a tackle.

He's supposedly had plenty of chances to sling his hook, including apparently to go to Crusaders in the off season. Fair enough, it'd have been on a reduced contract to the one he's currently on at Rovers but if he'd actually got his finger out and played somewhere near to how he did in his first season at Rovers they might have been stupid enough to offer him another full time deal for 2011. As it is, he's spent two years of a very time limited career doing nothing and he'll be lucky to end up at Hunslet Hawks (no offence intended) earning fifty Queens a week with a pork pie win bonus.

It's his own fault.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Would you take a cut in your wage, in exchange for the chance to do more work? :)
He'd be foolish to walk away for a poorer contract - as you say it is a short career. We're foolish if we expect him to sling his hook without compensation. If we weren't willing to make up the difference on what Crusaders were offering, that is our own fault. With hindsight.

The situation with Mills really is an odd one. He hasnt featured at all even for the under 20s since pre-season and if we believe what we read in the rugby press he has turned down opportunities to go out on loan. It isnt a great recipe for him earning a new contract somewhere else next season.
I feel sorry for him but if he wants to prolong his career beyond this season then he needs to put himself in the shop window and at face value it doesnt seem like he is that fussed.

If I felt that my work was valued so poorly that no one ever took any notice I would leave, whether another job was available or not. Professional pride would not allow me to receive money from an organisation that had no respect or faith in my abilities. When I pick up a pay cheque I want to feel I've earned it.

If he has had the opportunity to move on he should have taken it. The message he is sending out is "give me a contract and I'll toss it off for the duration". The only move available to him as a result of his actions is retirement from the game. Who on earth would give him a contract with his attitude?

I don;t Desperately want him back at widnes,we have far better forwards than mills at the club at present and i want our younger players to have there chance now.Looks like Mills will just retire from the game with reading these comments on here.

Yes, yes i would if the situation I faced was say, (random numbers plucked from air coming up) earning 100K until 31st October this year and then 5K or nothing from there on in, as opposed to maybe 30K now and the chance to broaden my experience with a view to moving into management in a few years time.

Obviously Mills won't be moving into coaching as he'd rather sit on the sofa watching Jezzer Kyle.

You make or break your own opportunities in this life, but then I don't need to explain that to you. You took the opportunity to live in the Midlands.

Good decision, I thought the chemicals had addled your brain since we were in the same division for a minute there.
