Fantastic win for the Reds today, and I didn't expect much as Hudds have been playing really well. I was out cleaning the car ( have been working today in The Highlands) when my other half came and told me the final score. To say we were "chuffed" is a real understatement: so I phoned our eldest (The Butcher) and we had a good old natter about it.
I went on the SL website to read the report and I was amazed. Talk about give our lads no credit: I couldn't believe it. They go on about players that were not "risked" for Knocks and used the word "shock" and "snatched" (quote). They also go on to mention players that have not or hardly figured in the Hudds team at all this season.
I don't for one minute begrudge Hudds success as I can equate with them more than the likes of The Pies etc. but this is absolute nonsense. You would have thought we were on the back foot from the "off" but then you read that they scored THREE tries in the closing minutes.
What a pathetic bunch of A'holes the press can be.
P.S. sorry about the rant guys but the facts just don't add up.
P.P.S. My other half and I were talking the other night and we don't see how the Pies can possibly meet the salary cap. All the best. BD.
Please please wash the car very very thoroughly next Sunday.

I agree the Rugby league media spin it that the reason salford win is because the other team dont perform,
its always "stugging salford win ONLY their 3 game of the season as team X fail to turn up" then when they talk about Wilky is "salt of the earth, Mr Wilkinson deserves success 20 odd years of hard graft and the amount of money and effort he has put in over the years"
Its like they are talking about two different salfords at times, make a choice praise us, big us up and give us some on the spot light to shine or keep slapping us down as a club.
Dont do both, like any wounded animal we have and hopefully will continue to come out fighting until we get some respect from the rugby league media.
its hard enough for salford to generate an interest in the area in rugby league if the rugby league media dont play the game.

The only player we've signed close season was Paul Deacon, the majority of our team now have come through junior development etc. Interesting you don't place the same argument on both Leeds & StHelens who have both invested considerably off season, infact Leeds used Lee Smiths wages on Eastwood or Delaney yet they still managed to sign him back again and.....get him under the salary cap!!!!!

Yeah the RFL loves us
you did spend more than the cap when you had points deducted, and don't you think it strange that when a salary cap was proposed for the lower divisions in football a few years back the club chairman were contacting Uncle Maurice to see how to get round it. High paid female consultants just happened to be married to low paid players etc.

Your comments are laughable, we did(allegedly) spend more than the cap allowed and got points deducted true, but thats over and done with. Why the hell did you think we had a new chairman put in place? Who basically sorted our finances out, take a look at how many players we have let go over the last few seasons compared to what we signed.
