So with 10 rounds down and Easter behind us, where are we at?
5 wins and 5 defeats - middling and about what we deserve. Narrow wins against Leeds and Saints, but neither were at full strength. Also Salford, Cas and Quins - Not amongst the stronger teams in the league. Battered by Wigan and Hudds, fell to pieces against Wakefield and couldn't find a way through Catalans or Hull.
We started slowly and seemed to have a hangover from last season. Jake Webster at Stand-off was not alka-seltzer in this analogy. We thought we'd struggle up front, but Vella, Clinton, Wheeldon, Lovegrove and the improving Watts are looking a decent quintet. Or sextet if you include Netherton as a prop. Galea's return from injury has helped, as you'd expect and we look to be showing gradual signs of improvement. Better weather should suit us too.
It is creativity we have been struggling with and the departure of Cooke leaves Dobson with a heavy burden to carry. It is a chance for I'anson to do what Welham did a couple of years ago, though. To reach the play-offs and be competitive in them this is the area we most need to improve. Hopefully things will click soon and we'll get some more consistent form.
Of the new signings, Hodgson appears to have plenty of potential, Cook looks a squad player - though maybe his try will boost his confidence, and Ratu has failed to make an impact so far. Our homegrown youngsters haven't a senior appearance between them yet and as long as the senior players are fit, their opportunities look limited again this year.
Looking ahead, in the next 5 rounds of SL, Rovers play Wire, Bradford, Saints twice and Crusaders - with a trip to Huddersfield in the cup thrown in. Going to be tough - which was why I felt getting 2 points against quins was so vital. On current form, it looks like hanging in there for the middle part of the season, as we have a decent looking run in, so could make a late charge.

Can't really add much to that, as it sort of sums up what has been a pretty frustrating season so far. The only thing you can be sure of is our inconsistency!
The 5 games listed look tough. 2 wins, 3 defeats is my guess.

Like that MR, here's my concise version;
Occasional flashes of brilliance offset by long periods of extreme gashness.
If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

I prefer your abbreviated version.
