Look how it backfired on Arsenal with Arshavin, Gallas and Fabregas against Barcelona, though admittedly risking players was more ridiculous than just 1.
Without Rooney we will have a weaker line up than the first leg and Bayern will have Robben and Schweinsteiger back.
I'd put him on the bench, then bring him on if we need a goal to go through. Macheda should be given a chance up front with Berbatov, with Nani and Valencia on the wings - can't see it happening though.

I can't see us beating Bayern, they will be stronger and we will be weaker. Unless we suddenly remember how to pass the ball again?

Scholes' passing on Saturday was shocking, despite a success rate of 2 from 100 he still insisted on the cross field ball to Valencia. Giggs' passing was poor too.
I've seen that the papers have been wrongly harsh on Berbatov too. It's impossible to rate him based on Saturday because he never got the ball to prove anything. I've said it before, and I'll say it again, we need to buy a creative midfielder in the summer because we look clueless in the midfield. If Chelsea were any good they'd have wrapped up the title ages ago, we've been poor all season bar the odd game.
I see there are some rumours that Rooney will be rushed back for Wednesday. It needs to be done, because it's season over if we go out.
The problem was that there was no other option for Scholes the left side was shocking Giggs is nowhere near match fit and was shockingly bad leaving the right side as the only option as we don't have a midfeilder who can play in the hole behind the forwards to link up the play. The pace and formation changed completely when Nani came on as it gave us options down both sides allowing us to push further up field.
As for the penalty claims i think Parks was a stonewall penalty i've seen it a few times now and from the back it's inconclusive but Zhicov didn't win touch the ball at any point imo. Neville on Anelka was imo nothing more than an old fashioned shoulder charge but i could have understood if the ref had of blown up although there wasn't much of an appeal from the chelski players. Lampard on Berbatov was a cracking tackle but he did jump in from behind so again could of understood if the ref had blown for a dangerous tackle but then again Neville was booked minutes later for a similar challenge on Malouda. Was Mike Dean under pressure after his howler last week week in the Blackburn game and the fact the player came out in the week and admitted he'd dove? Who knows but i guess it proves you'll never win a penelty at Old Trafford
As for Drogba's goal it's twice this season that Chelski have won a game thanks to an offside Drogba funny thing was i asked my brother if he could have got me the odds on Drogba scoring from an offside position

He was the greatest right back in the universe after the Liverpool game (think it was the liverpool game?) on MOTD.

Got to disagree with you on this fella. I like Berba a lot, but on Saturday he was shocking. His movement was just poor - not lazy as some would have you believe, but poor. You saw a difference when Macheda came on, he stretched Chelsea.

I'd be suprised if Ferguson would risk playing a two-man central midfield from KO against a team who can keep the ball effectively. If he did go that way, I am sure he would acknowledge it as a risk. Do you think Ferguson trusts United's midfielders to play as a two in the big games?

Never a pen. Park simply dangled his leg away from his body hoping for a connection. It was Pires-esque / Gerrard-esque.

A shoulder charge using his hip and thigh? Neville barged into Anelka. It was an obvious penalty.
From the two points listed above, I would never have guess you are a United supporter, fella.

A United fan making such a claim will get very little sympathy.
