Well after nine games time to take stock and for me we still need a quality centre as imo Hall and Whiting are not the answer week in and week out. Their aren't any I hear you cry. Lets give Turner a run in there and see what he can do. Other than that I'm pretty pleased. Quality pack, Horne and Long can only get better as will Tansey.

Think we all know the backs are too weak to make a proper challenge

The salary cap means no team is strong in every position.

Our next big signing still has to be a new half back though, we have to assume that Long will only play about 50% of games next year (with anything above that being a bonus) singing a new no7 is vital for the long term.

if a top class one can't be found, then yeah I'd go for a centre this winter.

We don't need Centres we need WINGERS ..Hall/Turner /Yeaman/Briscoe /Whiting are all centre's our weak spot is on the wings ..We have one ready that is Calderwood but he is not fit ..the young lads are not ready yet for the big hit's in S/L :?:

Just to disagree with both of you, we dont need centres or wingers imo, we need a gameplan that better utilises them. A decent coach who is tactically aware and knows how to use his halves and his backline would be far more useful than any member of playing staff.

Just for debate what would a bigger centre give us that Yeamo and Hall dont currently? They'd still have the issue we have now of not using them properly wouldnt they?

I would like to see Turner have a run at right centre the kid has both strength and pace.

Also need Long and Horne to have a run of games together to get the attack more fluent. We have had a lot of disruption in the backs so far this year.

If you are not part of the solution then you are more likely part of the problem...

Without a decent centre it doesn't matter who's on the wing look at senior and gidley I could score 20 try's a season playing outside of them 2. Which imo is were we're lacking.

whats everyone's opinion on re-signing Yeaman?

personally I'd only do so if he agrees to cut his pay (which we presume is high as he was an international at the time) the club shouldn't be breaking the bank to keep a player who's forms been lacking for a long while (in part due to the half back situation)
