Benitez has subbed Torres with Liverpool drawing 1-1 with Brum. Is this a Gullit/Shearer moment?
1622: Remarkable, absolutely remarkable. David Ngog comes on for Liverpool - and he replaces Fernando Torres. There are loud boos at St Andrew's where Ngog is less than popular after his dive at Anfield earned Liverpool a draw against the Blues earlier this season. The boos could just as well be coming from the perplexed Liverpool fans. Torres also looks baffled.

“You are playing a game of football this afternoon but more than that you are playing for England, and more even than that, you are playing for right versus wrong. You will win because you have to win. Don’t forget that message from home. England expects every one of you to do his duty.”
West Ham put in a decent spell of play and Parker plays in Carlton Cole. Distin and Cole tangle just inside the box and both go to ground. Ref points to the spot
Mido aims for the corner but under-powers his shot and Howard saves.

Liverpool SHOULD win four out of their remaining five games, possibly five if they can put in a big effort against Chelsea.
Can City win 3 or 4 of their remaining 6 to take 4th? I'd rule Spurs and Villa out of the running for 4th purely on their tough run in and lack of points in Villa's case.

I saw a bit of Steve Gibson and Blakely at his best.
Now I'm watching Alker lead us on against the rest,
