Poor from Utd today. Played like the away side in the first half. Improved in the 2nd but Chelsea deserved the win.

1-0 up in Munich, Carrick gets taken off and we lose 2-1.
Carrick left out today and we are outplayed. I see a pattern emerging.

Their true nature always shines through. Wonder which Burnley play Adebayor will stamp on and which Burnley director Cooke will offer outside to.

I know you hate Citeh but can You not see the carnage They will cause next season, scouse not in Cl ,Utd skint, Arsenal cannot spend a dime Abramovich saying enough is enough. I for one hope Spurs (do not think it will happen) get 4th. Premier League just becoming a four team league next year 3 team league in 2011 2 team in 2012 etc. Really worried money killing the game quicker than I thought would happen

I don't hate Citeh. I've got no problem at all with Citeh. What I have a problem with is one idiot Citeh fan who used to talk schitt about Chelsea and has conveniently forgotten his Wenger-like obsession with bringing kids through being more important than a billionaire-funded title chase.

I think Citeh getting the 4th spot makes their progression more likely. I think their CL qualification would help, but I also think they could progress at the same rate without CL qualification if the Sheikh throws even more money at the club.

Before Chelsea won their first title there was talk that money was ruining football. There were many calls for salary caps when Chelsea were top. Those calls for a salary cap ended when Man Utd took the title. Nobody wants a salary cap right now, even though Manchester United could win their 4th title in a row. There's just something retarded about that for me. The richest, most powerful club in the country can win 4 titles in a row and nobody minds (and I think it's something like 7/10), but a couple of clubs have billionaires who can erase that advantage and suddenly football's being killed? It's a load of bull for me.

Citeh have probably spent £500m to reach 4th. They could spend another £500m and still not win the league or win the CL. People assume that the Sheikh's funding is endless, but that doesn't mean it's true. The Sheikh could decide to stop funding Citeh in the same was as Abramovich has done.

The billionaires who are willing to fund their sides do distort competition. But so does the CL. Throughout Europe the leagues are pretty much divided between the sides that qualify for the CL separated from the clubs who cannot afford to compete. Most of the sides at the top of every league are the traditional mega sides who hoover up all the glory support from their country. Having massive clubs like Real, Barca, AC Milan, Juve, Manchester United dominate their leagues is all fine and dandy, but clubs having someone willing to invest heavily to equip them to compete is killing the game? Get real. It's absolute nonsense set up to protect the richest sides from having someone else even more powerful than them.

Scousers not in CL. :D :) :ROCKS: :BOOHOO:    :SHHH: :DRUNK: :MOON: :thumb: That will be awesome.

Arsenal not spending. I don't know what the truth is surrounding Arsenal. They keep telling everyone that they have £50m to spend if they need but the don't spend any of it. TBH I couldn't really give a toss if they are skint. They built their new ground to rake in huge gate receipts so I'll laugh my head off if they've got their sums wrong and it doesn't help them.

Abramovich saying enough's enough. I'm not sure that he has done that totally. With the massive managerial changes we've been through it could be that he wants to make sure he has a man in charge he believes in before opening his wallet again. And if he does decide that he's not spending any more that's just something we've got to get over. We've had the good in the last 5 years, if the next 5 years see us dropping to the Championship that's the price we pay.

Utd skint? That's nonsense that they are skint. Glazer spent something like £800m buying the club. The club is now said to be worth £1.2bn. MUST might talk about the debt as though it's crippling the club, but they are most the bunch of morons who were supposed to **** off to MUFC. They are just a group of glory hunting mongs who want to own a billion pound organisation but didn't think of buying it when it was available for £20m.

Chelsea have had hundreds of million spent on the side and a huge wage bill. Man Utd have decades of raking in huge sums of money. But they still might get beaten to the title by a skint Arsenal who make a transfer profit every year. If money's ruining football then how can that happen?

Laugh as you may there is some truth in that. I'm only going off the highlights and they may have been edited in such a manner to make Utd look hard done to but to me it looked like Utd should have had a penalty in the 1st half and that the Chelsea's 2nd goal is clearly offside. If those two calls are made correctly there is a strong chance that the result is different. The Utd goal was also a clear handball. The officials seem to have got all the big decisions wrong from what I've seen in the MOTD highlights package.

That's a shocking sending off in the Arsenal game. Booking yes but if that's a red we are going to be looking at 7 a side games.

both sides could have had pens - the offside is about as bad as you will see.

I didn't think that the Park/Zhirkov challenge was a penalty. None of the commentators or summarisers felt that it was worthy of a pen. My first thought when I saw it was that Park was a diving **** and should've been booked. On the replays I saw there was contact between Zhirkov and Park, but there was also contact between Zhirkov and the ball. Park went down very easily and theatrically.

Lampard on Berbatov - 100% no pen.

Neville on Anelka. 100% pen IMO. Anelka's driving into the area, Neville charges into him at 90 degrees and barges him down to the ground. No attempt to play the ball is made by Neville. All the HT summarisers felt that was a pen.

Drogba 100% offside for his goal. Bad decision from the lino and he must have really screwed up with what he was watching to make that call. The only explanation for me is that he was switching between watching for the pass and the offside line and messed up badly. IMO Kalou held on to the ball too long and that could have been what messed up the lino, but whatever happened that lino won't be getting a glowing report.

Looking at Macheda's goal he definitely moves towards the ball with his arms. But IMO the ref is not in a position to see that and he has to give the goal.

So Chelsea had one legitimate goal. The Drogba offside goal shouldn't have stood, but that was cancelled out 2 1/2 minutes later by Macheda handling the ball into the net. Anelka shouuld have had a pen, so Chelsea had 1 legitimate goal to nil over United and should have also had a pen. So I'm just not getting how United have been cost the game by the officials, which is what Ferguson said.
