Looking through the squads of Leeds, Saints, Wigan, and Warrington with past playing time for senior players to gel, Huddersfield in terms of an all round well coached unit with quality players, and Bradford being in a similar position to ourselves in terms of quality recruits needing time to fully exert their influence, is sixth unrealistic? Although with a bit of luck top 4 could be the case, we need to be ambititious but with a sense of realism, the top spots are now far more competitive than when we finished 2nd in 2006.

I did question mark the point , but the earlier we formulate our recruitment strategy and earmark targets the more chance we have of achieving the signatures.

With the quota rules we will only be looking at british players anyway, will be hard to prise good backs from other teams.

Let's try to be positive, we got Longy last year, would you have thought that would happen if we were having this conversation 12 months ago, and I'm not saying he deal was done in March, buy Longy has said Agar's approach and the role he offered had a massive influence on his decision, maybe some PR in this, but Longy felt it was worth mentioning in his book not just on the HFC Website, maybe Agar can say the right words to a few other established UK stars also.

Like I said earlier tactics and squad selection are often to say the least questionable, but I think your emotion has overtaken you if think that is what attracts players of the standing of Long, I'm sure the guy has enough belief in his ability as a player that he could retain his place in any SL team. After all Saints would have been happy to have him playing for them at the moment but Longy's confidence in his ability said he could maintain his standards for 2 years and not just 1, and if Saints had said yes he may well still be there fighting for a place, and no doubt winning it.

Whats the point in spending money on any decent players though when the coach is clueless? It's like buying champagne to drink and then adding lime or blackcurrant!! You've got to know how to use what you've got.
