Good talent...but doesn't sound overly enfused:
The Panthers told him this month he was not in their plans beyond 2010. ''I'm highly disappointed and just gutted that the club's given me the opportunity to talk overseas,'' said an emotional Sammut, who made 38 appearances for the Panthers after making his debut in 2007.
''Pretty much Penrith is all I've known,'' he said. ''I've been with them since I was 11 and my whole lifestyle, family and friends have been here in Sydney.''

Its pretty understandable hes gutted if hes played at penrith since being 11 and hes been told they dont want him anymore. That doesnt mean hes not keen to play well for the crusaders. I think Sammut will be a good signing, they need a half back partner to go with Witt. Schifcofske is a dissapointing signing, he probably will play well for 18 months but Kear looks an exciting prospect and hes going to undeservedly lose his full back spot.

Is Lupton not performing or would he be better at 13?? I think he will be a good signing if he plays to his potential, but you do see some Aussie signings stutter when it is apparent that they don't want to be at a club due to being pushed out of the NRL or coming purely for money, I think Matt King would be such an example, he should have been Man of Steel had he shown the form he did in Oz.
I mean Sammut didnt even put up the usual party line "I'm going for a fresh challenge, to experience a different culture, want to get more game time....". Hopefully he will turn when he gets here.

I can't argue with many of Noble's choices of personnel but if Kear is not getting any games down here for the Scorpions or started at FB for the Crusaders then something is very wrong .

Training with Schifcofske can only improve Kear's game. Tne fact that Noble doesn't want to use Kear every game might be more to do with the pay structure in Kear's contract.

Which probably means that if he does well and antipodean clubs' agents start sniffing around he'll try to wriggle out of his contact on the 'I'm homesick ' fiddle.

Freedom for supporters of the government, only for members of one party - however numerous they may be - is no freedom at all. freedom is always and exclusively for one who thinks differently. Rosa Luxemburg, 'Die russiche Revolution'.

He's a rarity in modern sport. a 1 club man. had it been his choice to leave then it'd likely be a different story, but it's the club he's been with since a boy turning round and saying "we don't want you no more" so it's hardly a surprise he's feeling gutted
