I actually thought we played pretty much the same brand of RL tonight as we have all season.

The biggest difference was the reduction in basic errors (although there were still too many) and the fact that we had the rub of the green several times (which we've not in other games).

In any other game this season Tyrer's flick-back for Fitzy to score would not have come off, Broughton would've ended up in touch twice (and would've been slagged off for going for the corner when it wasn't on) and Talau would've tackled Whiting just as he touched the ball down.

Those four tries going the other way, plus a conversion that could easily have been disallowed, would've completely changed the game. However because those 50-50 situations were all coming up for us, it lifted the players which in turn lifted the crowd, which lifted the players further.

Just goes to show what a difference the bounce of a ball can make in TGG. Great to get a win though!

 Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book

Salford are a team dear to my heart! Good on ya and much love from a rhino!

Don't know if people think you are crap fans, nasty fans, or good fans? I just know I've always had a top crack with reds and I'm well chuffed for you tonight !

It was clear to see last night that the whole team gave 100% straight from the kick off and thats all as a fan you can expect.

Last week at Wakefield it was a shambles the whole game last night was a complete turnaround.

I was very pleased with the work rate of Daniel Holdsworth and in Jodie Broughton he is stronger on attack than I thought, plus it was good to see Ray Cashmere showing a bit of heart.

And last but not least I am pleased for coach McRae who has come in for some stick in recent weeks.

Next up Warrington Wolves...

:D

Friendly but bl00dy noisy despite the lack of numbers is the general opinion. A journalist described the atmosphere at Salford the best in rugby league a few years back. :D

Have you been reading archive papers from 1926 again?

Nope. Was about 5 years ago. I'll try and find it.

1/The forwards were actually running on to the ball
2/We were getting the ball wide
3/Our forwards actually made yards
4/There was more thought in the final 10
5/Tackles were made and completed

The boring percentage rugby normally played was gone and a more expansive game played.
There were still too many mistakes for my liking and Tyrer's defence needs working on but this time I can actually say this was a deserved win against a skilled highly experienced outfit.
Final point Matty Smith should be hooker as at SH he is clueless
