Over the past few years all teams in Super League have improved - Gone to a cup final or increased crowds. Some have come from a worse position than us. So our failure to compete in this league has got to be down to poor player selection, poor coaching plus the lack of someone to put the fire into the team and keep them focused. Life is too easy at Salford.

On that point, when we were first promoted to Superleague, we left Hull, Huddersfeld and Wakefield behind us in division one, Hull KR in divison 2 (not that many of their current fans will be aware of that fact) and Catalan were two small time French clubs. All have coasted past us since then, with Hull having a cup victory, runners up and a grand final (although being given the Gateshead team and £1M helps), Hudds having two cup finals and Catalan having one.

Yes on paper -18 on Leeds was worth staking the house on but for some strange reason they were saving themselves for Melbourne with the bizzare belief they were actually as good as them.

Unlike the economy a full recovery has since been made

The fans, the members, the people there.. from the day I stepped foot onto that field at the AJ Bell Stadium,I knew I would love that club for the rest of my life. "Jackson Hastings"..

Worry a little bit every day and in a lifetime you will lose a couple of years. If something is wrong, fix it if you can. But train yourself not to worry. Worry never fixes anything.

 Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book
