I was speaking to some one in eccles today and he said that peel holdings were planning to buy the club it was in a newspaper he said. He could not remember what paper it was in though just wondering weather anyone else came across this article in the paper i myself aint seen this but it could be a good idea to get a decent backer for the club.

That's a coincidence Neil as I was talking to a person in Eccles who said that in his paper it was Salford City Reds who were after buying Peel Holdings as a long term investment.

Hillbilly Red is bang on, never take Peel lightly.
The good news is they obviously know their way around the block, particularly in this area. They will deliver the stadium project. The bad news is that they are property developers and so have no interest in Sport except insofar as it can benefit their business.
Thats OK ,too, just as long as you know that these are the rules.

Personally think Peel would be a step in the right direction, can anyone honestly see them going about it half ar$ed? and with little investment?.
No they are a massive company and would I think see the Reds as a very public and media friendly face of the company in an area where they have massive investment and interests.

As we are in desperate need of new investment I don't see how it could be a bad thing in the short term. If it led to a new coach, please god, some new players and a little bit of excitement then lets hope it's more than a rumour. Long term it could stitch us up big time, but they do seem to have an interest, and are capable of financing us for a sustained period. Lets not turn on a possible benefactor.
