I think also the inclusion of Gareth Thomas helped with the crowd, plus Sky spending a day in the town centre bigging up the game, we have no city centre where large groups of people actually go to, there in lies a problem, because we have a number of small centres, Salford Precinct, Swinton Precinct, Eccles and Walkden, perhaps the club should try something at them in the run up to the Hull game.

the sport relief effort might help, but i live in little hulton and there were no signs up or any posters explainin the reds were gunna be at the total fitness gym.
the pr side of our team has been neglected over the past 3 year, may actually have diminished when we got relegated

6000!!!
and id say this was down to their fantastic price deal, £24 for 2 adults and 2 kids.
i know we have similar deals but dont think the message gets put out there, i think you
have to scrap through that untidy website of ours to find it.
it all boils down to advertising again. broken record i know but come on! we barely get 2000!!!
i think a major promotion needs to be done over easter!!!!
With all due respect I doubt if many parents want to bring their kids to Weaste on a Friday night, and if the kids are pretty young the late finishing of the game. If you want to attract families we need to switch back to Sunday Afternoons when the scrotes are still in their pits, the suns shining (in theory), and kids don't whinge that they're tired. We all know it wont happen because Salford would rather court the suits and their cash on a Friday than actually bother trying to get kids in.
To get new fans through the gate they need to promote a big game at home properly in places outside Salford and charge peanuts for that game. It's surprising who would take a chance on something new if it was dirt cheap.
I still think Friday nights are counter-productive to crowd numbers both for home and away support, so any marketing is imo a wasted effort, and it seems the Club thinks so too.

after the saints efforts to bring more in discussed on another thread (crowd hull game) linking up with Manchester Phoenix ice hockey how about us trying something like this idea from Witton Albion, with an increase to the £10 they want but priced competitively, maybe £20, covering entry, a drink at the bar and a set meal, we've have to do something to bring people through the gates. The fans on this forum seem to have more ideas about what we could do to promote the club as at least 3 threads show, someone at the club needs to take note and do it quickly.

i know quite a few witton fans because my misses comes from Northwich, none of them like rugby and cant see why we watch it. Plus its a bit of a drag for them to come to Salford and watch a game! I think it's stupid why nothing has ever been done to link up with sale sharks, maybe even FC united?

Jaymc9 read it again, it doesn't say link up with Witton just steal their idea, but we already have offered a set meal at the start of teh season for £25 with the game and nobody new came.
