Trolling and banter aside, would Hull fans support the council contributing to cover the costs of building a new stand that visiting and Rovers fans would benefit from? These are straitened times, I know, so I don't put a time frame on it - but in principle?
To be honest no. I think that the council can spend it's money on better things that will benefit a greater number of people (like resurfacing roads for example or putting in more cycle paths). Someone will bring up the fact that the council stumped up money for the KC but the situations are somewhat different. The KC has, IMO, brought genuine benefit to the city as a whole and I don't see a new stand at CP really doing that.

NHS money redirected from the East stand?

There is a difference of scale, but the principle is the same.
The benefit will be smaller, but so would be the cost.

I agree that in principle it is the same but I think the council would have a hard time justifying it. Funding a new stand at CP only really benefits around 10,000 people (25,000 max if you include FC fans too), whereas building the KC ,in theory at least, benefit the city as a whole in providing a top class venue for the city to host international sport and large concerts (this hasn't worked out but that was idea when it was built) and also helps with image of the city for promotional purposes.

bit sanctimonious. So if we have a ground with a 20,000 cap we dont get dibs on concerts and sports events in the east then? on making them work, it depends on whos running it and availability. We dont have football landlords.
HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!

While enormously grateful for a share of the NHS cash, it is to extend by a few yards an existing stand and would only be a small fraction of the cost needed to build even a no frills stand at one end of the pitch.
The costs of stadium development dwarf the budgets of most SL clubs. It is very hard to go it alone.

No need to be facetious
How much did the Golf stand cost? Could you get another?
