I would take Lennon, Milner, Johnson, SWP, Walcott and I'd be mixed on David Bentley. Beckham has done nothing at club or international level for a long time, people need to let go.

We don't need a pudding up there with him like Heskey, We should adopt the United formation for big games in which Rooney plays up top with pace on either flank in the shape of players like Young, Downing, Milner, Johnson, SWP, Walcott
Barry anchoring with Lampard and Gerrard offering Wayne the support
I agree. Would mean we don't get outnumbered in midfield and would also mean we have Gerrard through the middle supporting Rooney.

Nah 4-5-1 in the big games, 4-4-2 in the not so big games.

Milner will go anyway cos he can play anywhere in the midfield, as well as a cover RB/LB.
Lennon would be the starting winger for me, if fit, because he's the best England can offer ATM.
Johnson? 6 games for City and you'd take him? Good player, good goal yesterday, but this WC is too soon for him IMO. Walcott doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the England squad.
There is no need for us to justify our feelings anyway, Capello would've taken Beckham and that's all that matters.

He as been very poor for Ac Milan.
Of course, the thing around Beckham's neck has nothing to do with it been my avatar.
AC Milan are a pretty poor side. Yet in the two games against United he was a constant, big threat against us, for his crossing/passing more than anything, and we have the best defence in the Premier League.

You laugh, but with Brown struggling, Neville will be considered. Especially with him playing more regularly now for United than he has done for years.
I wouldn't take him though, but wouldn't be at all surprised if he goes.

To be honest, we don't have many options at right back. If Johnson or Brown don't go, then Neville may well be the next option, or maybe his brother Phil, which is a scary prospect.
I'm dreading tonight, as always with Monday night games. A lot has been said in the past by premier league managers about playing after the big clubs, I think it makes sense. I remember Mourinho used to moan about playing after United in the title race, as he felt it added more pressure on his players to get the performance. I feel the same with us and it isn't surprising to see we've never won a Monday night game under Benitez. Tonight we have to put that right, we've been given a slight chance with City slipping up, but we can't afford to throw chances away.

For a similar reason to why Beckham would have been picked, he has a history of doing something special in big games. His form is obviously way short of his rivals for the squad though.
