While I can understand scrapping refuelling from a H&S point of view (there were a number of incidents with fuel rigs over the last couple of seasons) taking away the additional considerations of when to stop, how heavy will the car be and what does that do to lap times etc will just lead to more processional races where the guy on pole wins IMO.

The design of modern F1 cars makes it aerodynamically difficult to overtake unless you have a clear speed advantage over the car in front. Those cars with a clear speed advantage are going to be up the front of the grid anyway as everyone will be qualifying on the same fuel loads.

Gonna be a close season this one, the things I'm excited about the most are the return of Lotus, no more refuelling, the Yorkshire team (Virgin Racing) and the return of the yellow helmet in Bruno Senna. Hope this kid is at least half as good as his uncle was, no pressure son.

Thought Vettel had the race wrapped up until the problem with his car towards the end. Ferrari look so strong this year.

The new rules haven't changed anything, still hardly any overtaking,if anything there was less with all the cars having the same amount of fuel at the start of the race.I'll watch the indycar series for 5 mins tonight on Sky and will get to see more exitement and overtaking than the whole of the F1 race.

There were two problems with the first race:

1. Bahrain is not really the season opening type of venue that Melbourne is (that's a compliment my antipodean friends 8) ).
2. The Bahrain track had been changed to much when it wasn't necessary.

Still keeping the faith, as Melbourne is a great track and dull races at Albert Park are very few and far between.

Good win for Button and the rain spiced it up a little
Loving Hamilton's reaction during and after the race :D

Another race which pointed towards the problems the new rules have produced, Hamilton pitted to make the car faster but lost because it's too hard to overtake on worn tyres, most of the cars could have finished the race quicker by making a second pit stop but knew that they could keep faster cars behind them
