Yes I'm afraid you are right.
Briscoe was well below par against Saints but we won and his worst mistakes were not punished. I laughed out loud when the east stand shouted 'England's No 1' in that game. Not very convincing when the man's having a stinker.
This time he didn't get away with it.
If Cockayne had been at full back playing like that 2 weeks running there would have been a thread several pages long criticising him.
But still, Briscoe deserves some slack. You can never fault the man's commitment or bravery so I expect it's a matter of confidence.
One good game and he'll probably be back to his reliable best, next bad game estimated around year 2014.
