Mixed feelings on this one. I'm convinced he was largely the catalyst for our survival in 2007 and also believe he took an unfair share of criticism from our own support during the last two seasons. Having said that, it's fair to say that over the period we had him Rovers never quite gained the player that FC lost. I think the move to Wakey might take him away from the constant sniping and scrutiny and we'll probably see more of what he's capable of. For him it's the best move. For us, who knows? Short term he'll be missed I suspect, but long term the gap will be filled.

They wouldn't have to de-register him, just come up with a way to ensure that enough of his wages came off the the cap to accommodate any overspill from Clinton. For instance, if they could demonstrate that a loan agreement was just about tied up and promised not to play him in the meantime...
Hold on to me baby, his bony hands will do you no harm It said in the cards, we lost our souls to the Nameless One

And Clinton and Cooke never took the field together, it all becomes clear.

bit hard that when the word is rovers are still picking a chunk of his wage bill while at wakey
Cookies problem has always been a simple one. He was in a team where he was a God who won the challenge cup for them and his display at Saints got them to the GF. He then moved to a Team where the Fans (me included) made him the mesiah but he would never be bigger than Morgan as he assured that and Webster. He went from being the man to be being one of many men, Several players get a louder clap on the team sheet read out than Cooke and have done for a while. He has spat his dummy and just like my boss would his boss has apparently said if you dont like it you know where the door is. Rovers (and HUDGE being more specific) had a choice, they let cooke go or Morgan goes i know who my choice would be.
