Asked him a couple of years back if he'd consider it he laughed, basically not believing he would ever be considered.
Asked him again before he did his shoulder last year and he wasn't too sure but I am pretty convinced that if the new England coach were to offer him a chance he might be tempted.
His mum would be VERY VERY proud if he pulled on the Red and White of England, that there is no doubt.
One thing he is going to have to improve upon is his defence, he was highlighted at centre and second row for the faster players to exploit but unfortunately he has started to fall off a few tackles recently but at only 23 he is sure to have that coached out of him. Sometimes people forget he is one of the youngest players in our squad and these youngsters are the ones who have the most growing time in them. Look at Gaz Ellis when he went to Wests, they were appauled at how poor his defence was compared to theirs yet our pundits thought he was the greatest!!!
Rhys loves it at HKR, he loves being in East Hull and he really enjoys being coached by Justin. I think us Robins can expect at least a couple more years out of Rhys yet and fingers crossed he will be in the England set up soon.
