I don't think the front row has been as big a problem for us as we first thought it would be, We've suffered more in the creative backs, the return of Galea will help a lot with this and take the pressure off Dobson a fair bit.
I'm certainly not getting carried away with yesterdays win, but its a damn site better than getting beaten by a depleted saints team and I'm certain that would have happened if we'd played them weeks 1 - 4.
Steady progress, props stepping up the mark, would personally like to see a bit more variation in attack but it's coming.

Joel looks more like the type of player that we already have with just abit more grunt (agreed we needed him though) If we wanted it to become a powerbase then we would need a player(s) like Faasavalu and Paleaaesina (spell check?)

Vella hasn't looked fit for a while and has been carrying the pack in the absence of Galea and Clinton imo but with Watts stepping up too it looks half decent. Still, wouldn't get carried away by getting a last gasp winning try vs a seriously depleted Saints side.
I dont think that anybody is getting carried away. Saints were no-where near full strength but most of their big guns were there upfront and our pack outplayed them. We wont be the soft touch down the middle that many would have had us believe pre-season.

You said "getting carried away by a last gasp try against a depleted team". Nobody is getting carried away by that. The fact does remain though that the front row is becoming our powerbase. That is there for all to see and is not a case of getting carried away.

I think the point is that Clinton and Watts have given Rovers two 'new' and physically bigger options at the prop spot. The losses of Fozzard and Aizue don't look so damaging now. With Vella, Lovegrove and Wheeldon we have a decent quintet to rotate. Netherton's versatility and defensive soundness will see him compete for a spot too. I know Mills has dropped off the radar, but as 7th choice props go, he ain't bad. And there is Beaumont coming through the ranks to.
