Does anybody else agree with me on this.We have had many coaches over the Wilky years, and many players. But the style of rugby has changed little ,no matter who is in charge. The only common thread running through this is JW.Is it he who tells the coaches to play this kind of garbage ?or are we right to blame whichever coach/player? I know before anybody starts that without JW there would be no SCReds, but he is the only common factor that I can think of.

The thing is RedBalloon...Wilky has NO ruthless streak in him and thats what we need, At the end of the day This club is JAW livelyhood and after last night and the past 14 games Wilky MUST realise this is DO or Die...The RFL will be under immense pressure to Justify our place in Superleague as we are offering VERY little and becoming a bit of an embarasment Low crowds, Poor Marketing, Crumbling Ground, False promises. This needs to be The Wake up call for Wilky and Clague ..TIME FOR HEADS TO ROLL before we are left stranded at the foot of the table and the fans dwindle to the last 2 and half thousand. We need a Public announcment of intent from wilky on Monday...

When passion and skill work together, the end result is often a masterpiece.

I agree , JW is too much of a nice guy.We really do need somebody who is a bit ruthless.I think SM is from the same mould as well. [too nice] Nice guys never win anything, they just get trampled on.I know Wilky would sell tomorrow if he could find a buyer, but where do you find a rich man with deep pockets these days?
Saw Andy Greg at the game last night.
I for one would love to see him back at the club in some form or other along with Paul Cullen.Love him or hate him ,he talks a lot of sense and he is the only one I can stand to listen to on Sky now.
The other numpties just annoy me.
Appointing Alker to the coaching staff was a stupid move. What can he teach our youngsters about attacking play !!!!!!!!

Alker can teach our youngsters nothing about attacking play but a whole lot on defensive play and general commitment to the cause.
He's coming to he end of his playing career, lets not make him the scapegoat here. He has been a phenomenal defensive player, not great at dummy half, and the occasional 40/20, but lets face it, he is as good as we have had in the last 10 years.

unfortunately the club has never shown the ambition the fans deserve. We've signed some good players had a good season then sat back and and slipped quietly away. money is always a factor and we're constantly reminded we're not a big club, we work within our budget.

well you can't accumulate without speculating. the people at the top just haven't shown the ambition to take this club to where we know it should be. just like our game we have one plan and if it doesn't work we're screwed.

i'm beginning to think we'd have been better taking the risks and even if we'd gone bust we may have at least had the stadium we deserve and with it because of our location a super league spot.

I`m inclined to agree with you about speculating to accumalate. It seems we are the only club in SL who dont go in for it.Unless you are prepared to go into the red , you are only ever going to get the class of player we are used to.

yes its very much a chicken and egg situation that the directors have not been willing to gamble on. they've appear to be happy to keep our heads above water and settle for mediocrity.

Although i've always considered myself a supporter of JW with the times ahead i can't help but ask if he has any more to offer the club.

i guess i can only hope (once again) that they have big plans for the promotion for the club and caliber of player they plan to bring in when the new stadium arrives or we'll end up watching the same dross but we'll all have a little more room to watch it in.

Are we all forgetting about the salary cap, its alright saying speculate, but if we go over the salary cap what would happen, how about making an example of Salford and stopping them applying for a Franchise, the RFL would not do it to the Wigans and Leeds but a pain in the bum club like us would be panned.
As we know Hull KR £3.5m overdrawn, Bradford in the red, how come they have not broke the salary cap?

We need more people through the doors and the only way I can see this happening is by moving to Sunday Afternoons and making it a full afternoon of entertainment starting 3 nours before the kick off, with school and amatuer games and competions for schools and others away from the rugby, plus live music etc a family fun day every fortnight. This is just an idea it may or may not work, but it is what Bradford did to build up their crowds.

Be carefull what you wish for!

If Wilky gets a ruthless streak the first thing he might cut could be his financing of Salford RLFC.

If you want to be the best, you surround yourself with the best.
JW is a gentleman and no-one can surely doubt his committment to the cause, but I'm afraid he has surrounded himself with LOSERS.
We were handed a fantastic opportunity with the franchise, but WE HAVE BLOWN IT!
I have looked on at the likes of Workington with a proud history, now playing and losing in front of 400 or so speccies................is this what the future holds for us?
