Yeah, Michigan Red has summed up the feelings of many, many supporters.
Is the season over after 5 games..............I think so. The one thing I have really missed is the PASSSION the players used to show, even in defeat. Oh! for the likes of Rutgerson.
I feel like the lifeblood is being drained out of the club at the moment. It's much more than the usual ups and downs of following Salford. It feels TERMINAL!!!!

Dunneman was class and he was Harrisons signing.
All I will say is I had so much more enjoyment and passion following Salford a couple of years back than I do at present and Michigan Red sums up the feelings of many of us perfectly in his post.

I have never been so embarrassed and ashamed as when I trudged out of the Willows tonight.
I spent my very hard earned money watching a team who are having all creativity and passion drilled out of them, a team lacking in coached self confidence and a team who seem to be bereft of the basic knowledge in the fundamentals of common sense rugby league.
Mcrae seems to be hell bent on turning Salford into Cannon fodder for the lesser lights of super league, a team who darent show the slightest passion for the game and a team who waste the god given talents the players so obviously have.
I have played in amateur teams where the forwards hit the ball with more aggression, seen part time half backs create more opportunities and generally watched junior teams with more passion for the game and their fellow players.
I stand here to be shot down but call on Mcrae to step down, he is inept and is close to being the person most responsible for bring about the demise of Salford Rugby League Club.
Mcrae you should be utterly ashamed of yourself and if you have an ounce of decency in your body then you would set the players, the club and above all us supporters free.
I can't say I will not attend the next home game, but I can say that for the first time in my life I feel like booing anything acossicated to my beloved Salford every time that Mcrae slides across the pitch with his inane grin there for all to see.
If John Wilky does get any feed back from this site then please heed what we are saying and save yourself (as the continued falliour of the club will reflect terribly on you), the clubs good name and us the loyal and paying fans from further shame and heartache.

Duneman couldn't make a difference without some go forward. Even Luke Robinson looked like he could walk on water that season, he definitely hasn't looked that good a player since.

I sit here tonight in a state of shock, in 44 years watching Salford I have never seen a team so devoid or inept of any idea of what to do with the ball. Worst still I am looking at a Litre bottle of Jack Daniel's and wondering will it be different through the bottom of the bottle. I have never ever felt this low, I have tonight witnessed some good players unable to play to their best ability by a game plan of percentage rugby. We went in at half time 12 - 8 up and then the SLUG gave his halftime talk, pinching the ball in the tackle is not in the game plan so stop it. We pass the ball along an almost straight line not deep but very shallow none of this running onto a ball to get further yards no take it flat and stood still and then start to run the 3 yards we have got to play in. No individual stuff just play it along the line and complete our sets of 6, the SLUG would be proud that we nearly completed all our sets in the second half. We made no ground did not burst through a tackle just passed the ball and took the tackle. The game was dyer, the SLUG has torn the heart out of my team, over the last couple of years I have marvelled at what Ratchford could do tonight the French lads had two stand in half backs who ran the game, under the SLUG Ratchford has gone backwards, he is afraid to take on the line, put up the high ball, play off the cuff all the things that made him a stand out player all now seem to have disappeared under the SLUG game plan. I have a very heavy heart at the minute, maybe I will feel different in the morning possibly a hangover, but for the life of me I don't want to watch this dross anymore, I have my season ticket but I can not at this moment see me using it again after 43 years the SLUG has managed to do what no other event in my life has done and that is say I can not take this no more I feel like saying thats it I am no longer going to watch Salford City Reds. The players are going backwards, the people who could take the club forward have gone, Robbie as assistant coach, not Alker, Trish on the marketing side, the club is sinking faster than the Titanic, we can not afford to keep the SLUG at the club, he is driving the crowds away he still gets his wages win, lose or draw and they must be a drain on the playing capability. This hurts the most we do not deserve to be in Super League, if the SLUG stays, we do not need a new stadium the Willows will do for the National League. Whilst we flounder under the poor coaching of the SLUG another group might take up the Manchester Franchise like the Sale Yawnian, because they will not put up with the crap the SLUG puts before us each week. The SLUG is clueless, he has no idea on attacking rugby, the other Super League coaches must laugh their socks off when he is on Sky with the other two fukk wits who are stuck like the SLUG in rugby from 20 years ago. Well Jack is calling me, the world might look better tomorrow but Salford will still be the worst team ever in Super League with the Worst coach ever to work with players who need some coaching not like the teams he coached who did not need the work. We have managed to go backwards under the SLUG in three years we are now back where we were in the 80's with Save Our Salford. Peel Holdings must m#now be having serious thought to having their flag shipo the Trafford Centre covering the biggest pile of turd ever. sorry to ramble but the last time Salford reduced me to tears was because we had hammered Wigan in 1996, tonight they flowed for a different reasson.

As posted on Mcrae thread...
Not sure the loss tonight can be put down to Mcrae though. We were following the game plan and doing nicely, keeping them mostly pinned in their half with long kicks and starting to create the space to move the ball around a bit.
Then Alker pointlessly touches the ball after it's passed (no way was there an interception chance) and gives them another set of 6 that they score from. In the second half Gibson makes a complete town halls of an attempt to stop a kick from going into touch (it wasn't anywhere near a 40-20 either catch or leave it to bounce into touch) which gives them good field position and they grow in confidence. Smith passes into touch on the 2nd/3rd tackle in pur own half - they score. Henry cocks up a catch and so and so on. Our short kicking game was pants and with plenty of possession in their 20 we didn't force one drop out
You could see when they stuck to the plan they did OK. In the last 5 minutes there was a good set move from a scrum followed by another set move or two which got us about 60 metres (came to nowt and was too little too late but showed that they are clearly coached set moves).
Having said that I don't know where Mcrae can take them. They are either not good enough or not inspired enough to follow his plans. There is no flash rugby in super league these days its all about possession and territory so I don't mind Mcrae's tactics that much. The tactics are very similar to Harrisons but his team executed them better (he also seemed more focussed on the little battles - landing on your front, quick play the ball, getting them on their back).
