I don't know what the answer is either, but things did seem a lot better when Trish was here the Golden Angel scheme was fantastic. I know its not possible to do what Trish did at every game, but she did a great job getting the sponsorship to fund such a scheme and IMO we could do with something like that again (finding a company willing to sponsor won't be easy though).

Look at Wigan (yes I know its Wigan and probably not the best example considering the size of the club), but last year they gave a load of free tickets away to Heinz and got their second or third biggest attendance against Catalan. I honestly don't think we'll have anything to lose if we try something similar. Ok there will be a cost to the club to do something along those line, but surely that will be made back up in beer, food, merchandise and maybe just maybe a handful might attend a few games during the season.

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr

each week I get a text and an email telling me about the match, which is all well and good but I am already going, we need to get a list of mobile numbers of non-fans and bombard them with texts as well and added to it,"only £10 entrance with this text message."

as for marketing use the space at Barton a design painted onto the floor where the ground will be advertising the next match

good idea but I don't see how it would cost the club a penny?? surely the people who gained these tickets woulsnt have been coming in the first place so the club wouldnt lose out on ticket sales and as you rightly say the revenue from beer, food and merchandis. And most importantly should the team perform the odd new recruit in the stands. These are all pretty much common business practices and it astounds me that Wilky as a very sharp operator doesnt see this for himself and insist the club try it.

Personally I think whoever is in charge of promotion and marteking at the club should fall on their sword and they are utterly inept. We as a club are less in the publics sphere of awareness than at any point in the last 20 years for me.

We should get bands on at half time, like the wombats? In the summer let kids play on the pitch for half an hour after matches, start posters again and things like that? I'd say it'd be worth a try.

We should programme it to send an e-mail out to every e-mail of some1 from Salford if that is possible?

Marketing is done by being creative, I agree doing leflets maybe does not work but remember every successful business start with marketing its product successfully, just letting people know you are around gives positive steps. to continually do nothing will result in the product drying up,

for games when the crowd is going to be bad, quins, crusaders and catalans, why don't the club give a free ticket to every
u-16 and parent who plays rugby in salford?

They always give free tickets out, at the moment they cannot even give the free tickets away.
