Is it me or do Salford not market any of our games, no posters, no flyers, no promotions, no nothing! Against Catalan we are going to be lucky to get 2,500 you would think the club would try and promote the game to get the fans through the gates, why do we not give flyers out to people, leave them in local super markets so people can pick them up and take note that a game is actually happening,
Its a joke its meant to be our most important year in the top flight and yet the marketing seems to be non existent, the people who the run the club are a joke and Mr Wilky needs to grow some Balls and make tough decisions, and get people who now how to run a club.
Does anyone really think even with our new stadium (if we get it) getting 3,000 every game and coming bottom or 2 bottom of the league we are actually going to get one??? Even if Wakey & CAS don’t get stadiums they get 6,000 a game and will finish in a decent position in the table, something needs to change and fast but its Salford and it wont.
I have said it so many times, how poor is our marketing of the club! Salford do not believe in marketing the club, those responsible for marketing the club are in a time warp!

In the post-modernistic society which we are currently in, marketisation is at the forefront of almost every area of life. Unfortunately this appears to have been overlooked by the club of late. Unless, all available resources are being put into promoting the club once we enter the new stadium. A kind of saving up period before making a massive assault on the general public in 2 years time...

I listen to rock radio....and am really impressed by the adverts for the phoenix ice hockey and the city cup ties, they are witty and stand out....although I hate football...I at least knew when the game was being played.... and have been tempted to go to the ice hockey just to see what the crack is

I've said it before and i'll say it again, someoen from the club needs to approach the uni in Manchester and see if any of the advertiseing students want the chance of getting their work out there. I can't see any good reason why it would have an adverse effect and should there be the next Sachii wunderkind floating about they might at some point down the line look at Salford and remember who gave them the beginings of thier big break.
Feint heart never fukked a pig so someone at the club grow a pair and go for it.

we need some way to make the game highly visible top the public, problem is the very small budget we have.
With Peel being our partner I'd like to think we could exploit that, even if leaflets were in their displays, the team photo in a more visible position or more of them in the eating places and close to everydoor.
We need to create a buzz and the on field isn't doing that, use Adamson more as he is articulate and young. The shop is another issue, we need to have items fans wear on days that aren't match days, items for kids to take to school.

More importantly, does anyone believe that they will increase attendances significantly enough to pay for the posters, leaflets, radio ads, etc?
If not, then it's not good marketing - good marketing pays for itself (and usually brings in a profit).
Perhaps, having tried several marketing campaigns, the club are simply minimising losses?
Whats the point in having a marketing department then?
I've got an idea lets not try anything and continue as we are as that seems to be working dosen't it?
FWIW I too don't think just leaflets and posters will work, but we MUST try something at the moment it seems like someone is getting paid for doing naff all.

Great idea, you're hired! You should fit in just fine!?!

Seriously, that's kinds the point I was trying to make. I'm not sure what the point is at present and, until our marketing work starts to raise attendances, pay for itself and even starts to make us a profit it just seems to be a drain on the club.

Agreed. My original point is that posters and leaflets are almost certainly NOT the way forward.
I will be completely honest and say I don't know what the way forward is (unlike some of the numpties on here who always seem to know best, whatever the topic) but then I'm not employed within our marketing department.

Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book
