Do fan's think Salford should be doing what crucaders are, by signing a "big name" player, Gareth Thomas, to attract fans down to the Willow's.
As just been discussed on radio RL hour, its putting them in the headlines + it could bring 1000 extra fans in to the games.
Not saying someone that age, he is 35, but someone of that calibre. Maybe a "pay as he plays" contract.
I think JW needs to go out on a limb, know he doesnt like to do that, but what goes on on the pitch effects who comes through the turnstiles, & everything is very flat at the moment at the Willow's.
Need to speculate to accumalate at this time, we have got no characters at/in the team, no one who's name raises eyebrows & exites fans to come to the game, some one who lifts the team just by being on the pitch.
Think its a decision needs to be taken & quickly as the rot is starting to stick.

We need a massive front row prop who will run through brick walls for us.

 Love him or hate him, 163 consecutive appearances should make Stuart Littler a Salford legend in anyone's book

Thought the idea was to do away with the Willows Retirement Home concept.

Who would want to come and where will the money come from to sign such a high profile name we aint exactly an exiting project now are we? I would love to see big names but this will never happen we dont get the gates to raise the kind of money and a big named player would want a club with the chance of sucsess behind them and we dont have that.

What may work for the Crusaders may not apply to Salford. A big name Welsh rugby union is instantly recognisable to the Welsh public. It will create lots of publicity in the media and attract new supporters.

Who would the Salford (and Greater Manchester) public view as a big name signing? If we are talking about attracting fans to our games who have only a passing interest in Salford then it has to be a high profile England RU player and there is no way we could afford the wages and even less possibility that he will prove to be value for money. We would be talking about someone like Johnny Wilkinson. He wouldnt make a massive difference to the teams performance and interest would soon die down if we continued to lose games!

The Crusaders squad this season has been underestimated. There are some quality Australians in their and they have a very good squad. Gareth Thomas generates more interest and provides more of a Welsh feel in addition to their young squad players.

The only big name person JW should have brought in was a new coach and assistant.
A big name player would not help because McRae would drag him down to his method of playing
The dour rugby the team play now is driving the fans away.
We are floundering at the base of RL without a foreseeable future.
All hopes seem to rest on the new stadium but that wont save us if we continue to get 3K crowds and continue to lose.
JW should have had the guts to get rid of our coaching staff when he had the chance in the winter.

There are no famous RL players these days so there's nobody we could sign. Even if we signed Billy Slater or Greg Inglis most people in Salford would have no idea who they are.
