This day was undoubtedly the best of my life... No, seriously. And I've had some pretty amazing adventures, let me assure you. To do what we did that day after being removed from the top tier of RL under the new brand of Super League was just, just, awe-inspiring...

There was absolutely nothing wrong with either of those tries, had they stood we may have beaten them by 38 points to 16 instead of the 26. I reckon the officials also couldn't believe what they were witnessing either and wanted to make sure that it didn't look like a rout (which in fact it was in my opinion). I always grin inanely when I remember the day, as I did for a full week after the game ended. Happy days!

One of only 2 occasions when I have walked out of a sporting venue having completely lost my voice .... the other was Bayern v Utd 1999 in Barca.

However, the Salford v Wigan game holds the greatest memories for all the best David & Goliath type reasons. The Wigan team line up on the day was awesome from start to finish, and on paper we had absolutely no chance whatsoever. It just goes to show what can be achieved with some self belief.

The day I cried with emotion at a rugby match, I still have the full page from the Evening news which proclaims,"Super Salford into history" framed on the stairwall. I touch it every night on my way to my dreams thinking if only....

Still get goosebumps every time i watch this again. it was superb. Speaking to Scott Martin the other week and he said that he doesnt remember the night after the game due to all the drinks he had been bought. Here is hoping to it happening again Soon.
