Clinton had 1 year left at Brisbane, so he had £163K in front of him, and was more or less guaranteed to be moved on at the end of his deal. When Rovers offered him 3 years, he would have had to weigh up his market value beyond his Brisbane contract before taking up Rovers offer.
Its nothing but guesswork (and poor trolling) to suggest Rovers are paying him anywhere near that figure. I don't think he will be our top earner, and he certainly isn't the highest paid Aussie in this city

In the kc friendly o'meley was very average, in fact pretty anonymous and radford had a pretty good game, therefore are fc paying £150,000 for an uglier, worse performing radford when they all ready had the pig ugly sh11t version playing for them..
Please tell me you're joking in appraising Radford as a better prop than O'Meley. I hope the wink indicates that. Still, at least we've captured that your assessment of O'Meley is that he is "very average". In which case £150,000 would be far too much. Although we know Clinton asked to be released from a £163,000 a year contract because of the deal on offer at Rovers, O'Meley was OOC at a bottom of the table club, so I'd doubt he could command £150,000 TBH, but clearly you know better.

A very good point. When you think about it, why should Clinton be the highest paid Aussie in the city? Fitzgibbon SOO 11, Aus caps 19 (last one 2008) Berrigan SOO 13, Aus caps 13 (last one 2007) O'Meley SOO 10, Aus caps 15 (last one 2006) Clinton SOO 0, Aus caps 1 (in 2004)
Maybe he can top up his paltry salary at Rovers with a bit of modelling.

not at all, I was using your idea that based on his debut Clinton is no better than radford, so I can make the assumption that on his debut for fc o'meley played worse than radford did in that game.
I find it strange how you seem to think that the top quality signings you have, o'meley and fitzgibbon, both who you remind us are soo and aus internationals seem to cone to fc for 2 and 6 and a pat on the back, yet you know to the penny how much we pay.

Your recent posts just pang of double srandards.
Sorry, but that's unfair. I've said in this thread that I'd expect our top earners to be on £120,000, so hardly 2 and 6. The difference is we know what Clinton has given up (£163,000 a year) so have some reference point, whereas I'm not aware of the previous salaries of our new players being in the public domain. It's quite possible that £120,000 is on the low side given, as you say, their relatively strong record on the representative front.

If you think that Berrigan, Fitzgibbon and O'Meley are only on £120k a year then you are crackers.

Lets be honest here, Quins pack on Friday was very poor indeed.
Quins had nothing to offer in way of attack and looked sluggish in defence, not a great barometer to judge your pack against.

Have just watched the first half of friday nights game. Your analysis of O'Meleys display is spot on. One thing i did notice was that the pattern of the game changed quite noticeably when O'Meley and Radford were replaced by Cussack and Dowes and Quins brought Temata and Ward on.
