Apparently Kieswetter should have been caught out before scoring in the warm up match that resulted in his promotion to the ODI side. Today he could have been out twice in the first over he faced. I dont know how good he is, but fortune seems to be favouring him.

Hands up everyone who doesn't think England operate a selection policy based as much on who you are on how many runs you make.

Give Ian Bell a run like the one Pietersen is currently on and he'd have been hounded out of the team by the fans and media by now.

I think you'll find he did and didnt get dropped when he should have done!

Though I do happen to agree that KP is indulged unlike any other player in the squad. I know that he can be world class and he can be our best player but how long do you wait for him to get back into form??

He's now apparently been told that he can come home from the T20 World Cup if his wife goes into labour. The kid is due some time during the tournament apparently.

Letting him come home would mean he couldn't be replaced and England would have a squad of 14 for the remainder of the tournament. Doesn't it just make more sense not to take him at all?
