Being an avid reds fan only missing a handfull of home and away games in the last 6 years!I am hoping the dream of our new ground will become reality sooooooon!
WHY??
Our last 2 games i will take my hat off to the players we have had on the park in our great reds shirt, they have shown 100%passion and comitment and put there bodies on the line for the cause! Our defence has looked rather impressive and sound.
After the failure of the dismal ,half hearted, waste of money, lack lusture defeat to crusaders(perhaps the booing did help  )the team has a whole does seem to have rebuilt and got things together!BUT we seriously lack the top grade class of players with the skills and quality to take our great club forward on the pitch!...tonight we had 3800 crowd(of which proberly 6-700 were from bradford)in our great but ramshackled ground. While Hull fc against quinns had nearly 14000(quinns fans 30 maybe!?)
Let us all pray that whoeverit maybe in the above title deliver us some smart stadium that WILL(as proven at wire and hull)attract a few thousand more to support us and at the same time help us to keep hold of the decent players that we have had in the past, that we have been unable to keep hold of!and also be able to attract quality new players to the club!
Tonight we cheered our heroes throughout even in a nilled defeat at home(all be itby 7 points)....Someone else tell me better things are around the corner and lets all keep the faith....and bring on what should surely be ourfirst win next week against the dragons!!
RED ARMY REDARMY :D :D

I went tonight and I love The Willows. What Id give at Cas for The Willows club at The Jungle. That said I do think the ground has a massive bearing. Its ALWAYS hard to find unless you know the area and its is very tired. I think it only appeals to the traditional RL community.

A new stadium which is easily accessible is the key.

The community team are doing great work in my school and we play at half time next week. The kids are really keen but the amount of parents ringing me to ask where it is has staggered me given the school is only 4-5 miles away. Lots of staff there have been a few times and speak of it fondly of Salford, but all mention the ground.

For what my opinion is worth, I think the RFL would be insane to not give Salford a franchise next. Yes crowds are low, yes its tough at the moment. But with a new stadium and a massive marketing effort for it, the Salford/Manchester conurbation has HUGE potential.

In many ways, bizarrely, you guys are like Harlequins. Your a development club in a massive city. The RL community is very well established, but Manchester has changed so much in the last 20 years and the challege you face is very similar to theirs. But just because its in the north, doesnt make it any less valuable.

Manchester and Salford could be a huge asset to RL, but the ground has to happen.

CT

PS - Salford by 12 next week!

Great reply cheshire tiger!
the potential is deffo there one day for Salford city reds to tap into a massive available market in Salford/Manchester!!
Yes our crowds are dismal at the minute, and i do think it is a waste of time the club even trying to attract fans from the wider mancunian/salfordian area while we are in Weaste(no disrspect).....I am starting to believe the stadium will happen and i cant think of any other super league ground that will have the thousands of motorists paaing each day like we will have to at leats think to themselves"umm ill nip along there and see what this rugby league buisness is about one day"!...just like we all did whe we watched our first game of the greatest entertainment sport on the planet!!
KEEP THE FAITH
