I've been saying that since Harrison left

I'd like to see some minor changes to the team for Friday, nothing major and maybe dropping M.Smith is slightly harsh, but I want to see Holdsworth given a pop at 6. I'd go with:

1. Fitzpatrick
2. Broughton
3. Henry
4. Talau
5. Gibson
6. Holdsworth
7. Ratchford
8. Boyle
9. Alker
10. Parker
11. Sibbit
12. Adamson
13. Swain

14. J. Smith
15. Leuluai
16. Sidlow
17. Littler

Can't see this being the team though and I think Holdsworth will start at 13, with Smith 7 and Ratchford 6, Swain moving to the back row and Sibbit droping on the bench for Littler.

Good john wilky last looked out
on the pitch at salford.
when the snow lay round about
deep and crisp and even
brightly played the lads that night
though the frost was cruelllll
when poor swinton scored a try
we had 94urrrrrrrrrr

Bradford squad will look like this:

1.Halley
2.Sheriffe
3.Sykes
4.Nero
5.Reardon
6.Kearney
7.Orford
8.Scruton
9.L'Estrange
10.Lynch
11.Menzies
12.Whitehead
13.Langley

14.Godwin
15.Hall
16.Kopczak
17.Donaldon/Worrincy

On paper it looks like a win for Bradford but to be honest, i think it will be close.

Would it be a good idea to put Langley on the bench and start with Donaldson at Loose? Then introduce Langley after about 25 mins to try make some tackle busts through a tired defence?

Not imo no. Langley has showed how good he is starting rather than an impact player. Donaldson can give us a different type of impact (if he's played). With Langley's stats atm I wouldn't unsettle him at all.

Really not looking forward to tonight.

Not to be Dr Doom, but watching bradford v cas last week and was impressed how they played. Bradford are notorious for going down the middle of the park and I think that if we start getting into a battle their pack will just roll us over!!

If we can keep switching the ball and move their pack around the park we might have a chance, but the weather is going to make that difficult.

BUT, I will be there singing my heart out in the shed as usual, And I agree with the other posts lets stop the booing and lets get behind the team!!!!

Really looking forward to tonights game.

Salford will be up for this after pushing Leeds close last week and it's important that we build on the good performance we put in against Castleford.

I always enjoy my trips over to Salford as it's only a hour & twenty minutes away on the train/tram from Bradford.

For me the best game I ever saw at the Willows (when we did win) was the 1997 clash played in the red hot heat.

I still have the match day VHS of the game and no word of a lie, there was at least 5000 Bradford fans in that 9000 crowd. The whole North stand was a sea of Red, Amber & Black.

Then came that 11-10 game and the awful Kirkpatrick allowing Salford to stray offside all bloody game.

That said we lost the game with what must be up there with the most inept performances of all time, anyone remember that penalty we had and Robbie Paul threw a forward pass to Medley from the tap (we were that poor that day).

Anyhow on to Fridays game and I just hope that we win at the Willows for the first time in five years, 2006 we went down by a drop goal 17-16, 2007 we lost 14-10 in the rain in front of just 3000, We were 8-0 down at half time but had two quick fire Tupou tries after half time to take us into a 10-8, but then came the Alker magic and we lost .
2008 Salford were in the Championship and last year we went down 18-10 with yet another poor performance meaning Steve McNamara has yet to win there still.

I'll say that Bradford will just edge it by eight on Friday.

See you all there.

Yeah I remember that game in 97, it was boiling and a cracking game, I've never seen that many away fans at the Willows. Your like us in many ways coz half of them have vanished

I think the score was Salford 24-40 Bradford and it was a scorching day with plenty of good quality Rugby League on show.

I hate to say this but from reading this thread ----> viewtopic.php?f=19&t=446386

It seems we are only taking just the one coach, although most travel by car and train.

I'll say there will be no more then 800/900 Bradford fans at the Willows tonight, which is not as many as Leeds or the Hull clubs would take, but it's pretty much what level are hardcore away support is at, at this moment in time.
